you have encountered a group of trilobites! reblog to help them on their journey
/ [Kim phone last month not today.] /
What?
- I still like you. I’m not going to stop liking you just because you’re going through a rough patch, Oliver, it’s alright. -
/ [Laughing? Yeah Tom. This is a rough patch.] /
- [ He Tried! ] -
/ [Rubs face with hand. Flinches. Forgot he has no face, and shouldn’t rub an open wound with unwashed hand. Gross. Hand now covered in blood. Wipes it on pajamas. Hates blood. Now hates these pajamas. Wants shoes. Are we there yet? Peeking out from blanket. We’re almost there.] /
- [He’s sorry he definitely did this to you and is responsible for it.] -
/ [Really, really wants to change clothes. Messing with Tom’s hand to calm himself down a little. It’s working. They’ll go to the hospital or clinic and Tom will stay with him 100% of the time and the doctors will fix it and not make it worse and he’ll get new pajamas that have no blood on them and go home with his face on and it’ll be okay. It’ll be fine.] /
- [Bad news for Oliver.] -
/ [OLIVER DOESN’T NEED ANY MORE BAD NEWS ON THIS THE SIXTH OF APRIL.] /
- [WELL BAD NEWS ANYWAY HIS MUN LOVES SUFFERING AND RELIEF WON’T COME EASY] -
/ [FINE BE THAT WAY they’re there did Tom go to the clinic or the hospital] /
- [Hospitalus.] -
/ [Oh fun. In they go. Receptionist gives Tom the paperwork because she assumes Oliver is a minor and/or incapable of handling that right now. They’re in an ER with a dozen people waiting to be seen. Most of them look like they’re in significant pain or literally dying of preventable disease. Paperwork is basic medical questions. Allergies. Gender. Birthday. Species. Medications. Etc.] /
- [At least he’s not like a rock. The allergy segment takes a considerable amount of time though.]
/ [don’t ask him he has no idea what he’s allergic to. Maybe just write “not latex”] /
- [Allergies: yes (not latex)] -

[txt] Jonathan ! ! ! !
[txt] I’m Jonathan. It’s me.
It’s really healthier for her to not.
/ How? /
It’ll cause social problems and stunt her ability to learn English, and satan loves it but I’m not mentioning that bit to you
/ Other people will cause social problems. If there are any. It’s not the clicking, that’s natural and innate. And kids do better at language when they learn several at a young age. My language wasn’t stunted just because my mom spoke Cherokee. /
And Arabic was beneficial for me but clicking absolutely held me back. They need to be learning useful, human languages.
/ People held you back. People and disease and an unfit diet that left you sick and without the energy to concentrate. /
I wasn’t held back because I’m sick I was held back because I’m impulsive and stupid
/ You were neither of those things you were an abused starving kid with heaps of emotional labour and guilt thrown on you while you were still processing what was happening with your family! How would you see a human kid if they went through what you went through? /
[you know that thing your coworkers do sometimes where they put your number in and hit the button so you miss a call but the phone doesn't ring for more than a second? Kevin does that to Hardy.]
- [Joke’s ok you asshole he always has his phone with him so he sees the Light. Re-calls immediately.] -
Yeah. Okay. I just. Uh..
Can you just. I have to be angry. I can talk if I’m angry.
/ Oh, sure. Like how your whole church is nothing but a guilt-trip fun ride that fuels the human vanity machine by emotionally shitting all over aliens, furthering the divide and stirring up a lowkey us vs. them blame game mentality even within the congregation. /

Yeah. It’s fine. [Anger coming back]

/ You can talk to me. /
There’s nothing to say. [There’s a lot to say and he’s not a good liar.]
/ I think there is. I’d help to get it out. /
I really don’t think it’s. Right. To discuss this with. Outside of the right context.
/ What’s the right context then? /
It’s a religious problem I should be talking to my priest.
/ Maybe discuss it with him later. No reason you can’t just talk in my general direction before then. /
…………………………..[nnnnnnnnnnn]
/ You’re allowed to talk, Kevin. You’re an adult. /
This feels illegal.
/ How. /
I don’t know. I don’t want to say anything bad.
/ You won’t. If anything it’ll be helpful for setting words to the feelings so you can like work through them or whatever. /
Right. You’re right.
/ And it’d honestly be better to get the messy first draft out here so you don’t feel confused and judged later. /

[Oh?]
/ [He’s RUINING their TIME! Baby voice noise chewing him out with nonsense words!!! Letting him KNOW!!!!] /
[Annoyingly satisfied with this.]
/ [Jonathan comes to see what’s happening. Velena is PISSED! Points and yells!!!! He’s RUINING IT!!!!] I think you’re being thrown out, dude. /
She’s a baby she can’t do that. [Ben awkwardly playing with a plushy carrot with a cartoon face in the distance, clicks something quietly and there is a LARGE laughing from Velena]
/ Velena is boss in her room. Come on, they’ll be fine. Nothing they can hurt themselves with. /
[Reluctantest following. Fine.]
/ She takes her clicking very seriously. /
Don’t worry, she’ll grow out of it.
/ No she won’t. She’ll be the best at it. She’ll make clicker poetry and reinvent the use of it in the world. She’ll knock us all out with how cool she is. /
That’s not how clicking works.
/ She’ll figure it out./
