Why I left Tumblr
You may have noticed I haven’t been active here for a very long time. Today I was thinking about my feelings towards this place and so I decided to come back here and explain why I left, hopefully causing some small positive change.
I left Tumblr because I didn’t feel welcome here anymore. I felt like this place was no longer for me, because I’m a white, straight male with no gender identity issues. What I really loved about this place was the fact that a lot of us were part of a movement that I fully supported, a movement for equal rights between all kinds of people. However, it was slowly transformed into something I could no longer support, a fight against all people like me, because apparently I’m inherently oppressive for being “privileged” and part of a majority.
So for all of you who contributed to this, congratulations on successfully bullying out a totally harmless and really nice person who treats every human as equal. And for those of you who welcomed me here with open arms and befriended me, I thank you for your friendship and all the wonderful moments. I’ll never forget you and my message box will stay open.
This is probably my very last post. Please enjoy yourselves, stay safe and be nice to each other. Feel free to reblog this if you’d like to raise awareness for how toxic the Tumblr community has become.
Goodbye.
