Eat Tokyo!
This time we went to Eat Tokyo to try some Bentou box. And Honestly, most delicious we had, so far. It was worth the price, and portion of the Bentou was enough to make us Very Full !

KINTAN (金舌)
Kintan is a Japanese and Korean, Yakiniku-style restaurant. Yakiniku means grilled meat, so you can grill your own meat and enjoy! The foods were excellent! The meats were seasoned well with sesame seeds. We had some problems while grilling the meat but the meat turned out alright.
(Spicy Pork Kalbi, Spicy Chicken, Yaki-Shabu Beef and Squid)
For main course we had Sukiyaki Bibimbap, Salmon Lettuce Bibimbap and Garlic Fried Noodles. Everyone enjoyed it and hopefully, we can go there next time to eat more variety of meats and food!

日本人の知らない日本語 (Japanese person who doesn't know Japanese) Review
After just completing my GCSEs, I decided to test the level of my Japanese skills by find a japanese drama. I happened to stumble across 日本人の知らない日本語 (Japanese person who doesn't know Japanese) on YouTube. Not only was I not able to read the title I could have barely understood the plot. However, I still found myself rewinding funny scenes over and over to fully enjoy them.
In summary the Drama follows a young female Japanese teacher "Haruko" who takes on a group of students, from foreign countries. Due to the caring nature of Haruko, these students throw her into not only hilarious but crazy situations where the viewers can't help but laugh. Keeping in mind Haruko is a teacher, if you study or plan to study Japanese I recommend this series as it explores many themes of the language beyond any text book. Now having re-watched it in my second year of A-levels I find out that my Japanese skills definitely improved as I can follow the pot more coherently but also that this drama is a classic as I found myself rewinding the same scenes over and over as I did before.
Sapporo Ichiban (サッポロ一番)
Sapporo Ichiban is a Japanese restaurant which is located in Catford, London. It is a small cosy restaurant with beautiful interior and Japanese sitting tables (like the one we sat on). In south London, it is rare to find Japanese restaurants in local areas. So, when we found out there is a Japanese restaurant in Catford, near Lewisham, we had to check it out! The foods weren't really what we had expected it to be, but we tried to enjoyed it. The side dishes such as Chicken Karaage, salmon and avocado sushi roll, were really good! We also tried some warm Sake for the first time. It was a great fun to experience this.

Language Perfect
Language Perfect is world's largest online language competition. It's where schools all around the world compete against each other to be in top of the league table and to win luxury prizes. We participated for the Language Perfect Northern Championships 2014 competition, which was held on November 2014. The competition only lasted for 10 days, and we were competing against hundred of schools!
Through this competition, it has definitely expanded our Japanese vocabulary and helped us remember and recall AS vocabulary. From the different courses of challenges given in the competition, it made the competition more interesting. Within our class, we competed with each other to see who scores the highest in the class. This motivated everyone to do well on the challenges and made us very competitive.
Fortunately, there was an App for Language Perfect, so it was very convenient for us do the challenges on our phones, wherever and whenever we were free.
We were one of the Top50 schools that came in the League table! Each of us received our certificate for our great achievement.
October the 2nd of 2010. In 2010, our Secondary School reached its second year of Japanese lunch time club. During this journey, we gained knowledge about Japanese culture and we also put it to practice by beginning with our basic greetings and learning some hiraganas. With the help of Sensei we were also taught about how to make origami, with our hard work and Sensei's demonstration each of us successfully made a crane. We experienced the method of Japanese Calligraphy(an artistic writing of Japanese language) and found it very interesting. Some days we would watch Anime and sing the opening song of the anime. 'Tanoshikatta desu.' The fun experience in the club made it impossible to pass the opportunity to join the Japanese GCSE class. When we joined the class, our journey never stopped and it continues even to this day with our strong desire to learn more about the Japanese Culture and to share our knowledge with others.
Japan Matsuri 2014
Matsuri means festival in Japanese. The “Japan Matsuri” is an annual event that takes place in Trafalgar Square and is the biggest Japanese festival in the UK. It includes various dances, music, Japanese food, family activities, and much more.
There was a large performance stage where various different acts performed. Radio Taiso frequently occupied the stage, conducting exercise routines that all Japanese people have grown up with, getting the people of London to interact with the performers. One group of musicians were the Taiko drummers, giving the audience with thrilling bass vibes. The drummers were pleasing to the eye as they incorporated dance while playing the drums.
The Japan Matsuri put our Japanese skills to the test as we had to introduce ourselves, and help visitors etc. in Japanese.
One food that particularly stood out to us was Takoyaki. Takoyaki is a ball-shaped snack made from batter, filled with octopus. For many of us it was the first time trying octopus, as octopus isn’t a part of British cuisine.
We washed this delicious snack down with Ramune and bubble tea! And for those without money, free yakult was provided near the performance stage.
Japanese club run by sixth formers!
Since November 2014, we, sixth formers have created and are currently running Japanese Club for the secondary school students of Corelli College- to provide them the opportunity to learn Japanese despite there being no actual Japanese lesson. Having been past attendee of Japanese club which gave us opportunity to learn about Japan, its culture and its language, we felt that it was our responsibility to make sure that the younger students are also able to experience that.
So each week we run Japanese Club on Wednesday lunch time. Although it may be short period of time we hope to teach, support and encourage the enthusiastic students who hold interest in Japanese language and culture.
2014 Hyper Japan! Hyper Japan is UK’s biggest Japanese culture event. It brings out the best of Japan to London, introducing amazing Japanese artists, Japanese fans cosplaying their favourite anime characters, delicious Japanese foods, traditional and contemporary Arts exhibition, various games for video game lovers and many more. Japan Language Foundation Library
This library is a fantastic resource for Japanese books for any student studying Japanese! With the library previously being exclusive to university undergraduates and post-graduates to access, they've recently opened their doors to students that are doing GCSE and A-Level Japanese course! Isn't that great!? We decided to pop down to the Japan Language Foundation Library for their campaign, which was designed to promote GCSE and A-Level students to use their facilities.

The library provides a variety of genres of books, all at different reading levels, which means it is guaranteed that there are books to cater to everyone - whether you're a beginner or fluent, a historian with an interest for Japanese culture or an "Otoku".
