Sharing More Than Just Recipes

One of the first things you learn as a child is to share. Sharing comes in many forms and is used between two or more entities. What you have to understand is that the main cause of social media is to share…..content, ideas, blogs, pictures, videos, and anything else worth sharing. In order to get seen or heard on the web you have to share.

So where do you share your ideas or content in order to get seen? The biggest and probably the most useful would be Facebook, but besides that there is Tumblr for blog post, Vine for videos, Instagram for pictures, and Pinterest for creative thinking. As a digital marketing student, it made driving traffic to a website easier once I utilized Pinterest as my way of reaching out to members. Once I began using keywords in pins, members and non-members could readily navigate and find the site that I am working on.

What I like most about Pinterest (besides recipes and hair ideas) is that it allows you to create your own content on something already created. It’s all in the wording and keyword phrases that make sharing a picture or a meme that much more interesting.

Creating Content Through Photos, Videos and Interviews

In order to create good content for your website, there are some things you must have in order to reach out to your audience. It is best when building or rebuilding that you are able to gather the information you need directly from the source. For instance, when developing the website for a gym, it is best that you visit the site, takes photos and video footage along with member testimonials to get customers looking for a new gym to join.

There is such a thing as entrepreneurs having to do all this work on their own, but for those who do not like the stressful mindset of having to collect visual content, that is where digital marketing students come in. Digital marketers or analyst are the ones that love to take the plain and boring and make it something beautiful. They began by researching what visual content would make a great website.

1. Visiting the site - Take the first step in your research methods to gather as much information as you can to support what your website is going to be centered around. Lets continue with the gym, it is best to visit the gym to gain as much content from it. This makes it easier, when writing blogs or posting about the gym to actually know what it is you want the audience or the reader to know about it. For a first timer like myself, after my first visit to a MMA gym I was able to write better because I was more comfortable talking about.

2. Take pictures and videos - Basic photos of the site, like what members, trainers and students are doing during class goes along with what the gym has to offer and makes for better selling points to recruit new members. It is best to show what types of training and classes can be taken and video footage is great for advertising of what to expect. These photos and videos are good content to building the site’s traffic. The more you can see and visualize the more comfortable you are to becoming a member.

3. Interviews and member testimonials - Before you even knew you wanted to join a MMA gym you wanted to know what others thought about it. The best way to get information about it and whether this particular gym is for you is to hear what other members had to say about it. Simple questions like, “What is it about this gym that you like most?”, “Is this the type of gym that you would recommend for me and my family?” All the answers to those questions plus more can be found when giving interviews and member testimonials about the gym. Thus making your decision to join that much easier.

Brainstorming Marketing Ideas

As a digital marketing student, coming up with an idea whether it be about website development, business or even marketing, brainstorming is generally the first thing that has to happen. There are many different forms of brainstorming. Writing it down, creating a vision board, typing it out on a excel spreadsheet (as I just did) are all general ways to brainstorm ideas.

To come up with a good marketing idea, there a few things that you need to do first:

1. Come up with a product to market. Having a general idea of what it is you want to market, makes promoting for it easier to sell. Examine the social media pages, and look at what works through other marketing ideas.

2. Know what you’re talking about and use research to find more ways to market your product. When it comes time for marketing there are several approaches to deliver your product to your customer. Some are through digital advertising, flyers, handouts and word of mouth. Once you know what it is you’re selling, who you're selling it to, and why you're selling it, it makes the product more marketable.

3. You have to develop a good sense of keywords that are going to get your idea off the ground. Especially in digital marketing, keywords are essential to selling any product and keeping the customer interested. Through social media and other forms of the web, keywords are the hidden foundation of putting your product on the market. If you continue to use keywords in your marketing it makes it simple for customers to find your product through web searches.
