people heard “intense friendship” coming out of craig silverstein’s mouth and ran with it without realizing that he also said they’re all trying very hard to balance out both percabeth’s friendship and romance !
i understand that the concern here goes for percy’s feelings realization at the end of ttc, but i don’t think we should worry about that nor the possibility that they would want to tone down their relationship (because yes, this is a point that has come out on pjotwt apparently).
that writers room is full of percabetrons left and right, they know the two have crushes on each other. walker has literally said that the producers/directors etc mostly choose the takes where him and leah lean more on the romantic aspect + they had percy say some very powerful lines to her for the entirety of s2. you want me to think they’re going to underplay their relationship?
personally, i believe they’re trying to remind us that things will be going slowly as needed. the feelings are still brewing, but they want to highlight that at this point in time they are friends, and it should be acknowledged. i also think they don’t see necessary to draw a strict line between platonic and romantic feelings between them bc these two aspects are blurring together without percy and annabeth realizing, so when it does actually hit them they’ll be like “oh, it was always there” bc their friendship was just that intense.
(not to mention we still have to see what they did with aphrodite, which i’m really curious about bc in the book we all know why she’s there)
let’s try to be patient and wait until we at least see the longer teaser before jumping to conclusions !!!!
