Gosling I rescued on this day last year,while waiting for bird rescue to come he sat in my lap or my bathtub.He was imprinted on humans they said .I still know him now and which one he is.They did end up releasing him back into wild he was slow learning everything but after awhile he became one of the gang.

Saturday at the pond.

Front yard visitors,not sure if he is lost or where turtle even came from ended up having to rove him from rose bushes and was not an easy task.Took him to storm drain hopeful he can find his way.

Rescued a fledgling yesterday,I found him in my garage and then realized he had been alone since tues he then seemed as though his health was in danger so took him to the bird rescue here.As for the others just birdin around and my little squirrel was waiting for me on my lunch break.

Last years babies ,sadly a human destroyed both nests and the eggs this year.Its so disturbing that I couldnt not even post a gaggle gossip.One of the nests the eggs were a day away from hatching.I have reported the individual to fish and wildlife and bird rescue here in county I live in but so far have not heard anything.This man walks around to all the ponds and pretends hes feeding turtles so who knows how many nests he has destroyed .All due to the fact he does not like them near his plants.He acts kind to them when ppl are watching but when he thinks hes unseen he is abusive to all of them ,its a very long story but the summary is theyre protected birds but yet noone has done a thing.17 eggs .The parents grieve for them ,I will never understand this .They just want to take care of their goslings and its constant battle trying to protect them around here .I try my best and am very interactive with bird rescue .I hope this man will be punished.

Its past time for her eggs to hatch.She spent all day off nest and the spot right there so many ppl bother her and its so very hot .Cross your feathers that these babies hatch.She lost all of hers last year only 2 hatched and lived and she lost both.The bird rescue released 12 goslings that had no family and she adopted them all.She is such a good mom.My heart breaks for her.

They came to me while working today to see if had some pellets and whe they realized that I did not have snacks in my pocket this was the reaction ,they turn thier backs to me and waddled off.I always head to the pond during my lunch break but they must have been busy then so came and found me later

Robbery in progress!Squirrel decided to hang out in the bird feeder and see what snacks he can steal ,He has his own feeder but always seems to like the others better.

Word around the pond is that the goose and gander have officially claimed their curb nest like it’s waterfront luxury property. The mama is settled in, feathers fluffed, eyes half‑closed in that serene “I’m incubating greatness” way.

The nest itself looks like a mix of:

- Carefully arranged grasses

- A few questionable sticks

- And whatever the wind donated

Classic curb‑nest chic.

If you even think about walking near that curb, Dad Goose materializes like a feathery Secret Service agent.

He’s doing:

- Perimeter checks every 45 seconds

- Random honk‑bursts just to remind everyone he’s on duty

A mallard drifted too close earlier and Dad Goose escorted him out like,

Even the squirrels are keeping a respectful distance, which tells you everything.

Today’s headline from the pond:

One goose. One butterfly. Zero patience.

Witnesses report that this was not a honking, flapping, dramatic chase.

Nope — this goose went full silent‑mode assassin.

Here’s the scene as it unfolded:

- Butterfly drifting by like a tiny, floating diva

- Goose locking on with laser‑focused “absolutely not” energy

- No honks, no wing‑flaps — just a determined power‑walk

- Goose closing the distance like a bouncer escorting trouble out of the club

- Tap.

- Another tap.

- Butterfly getting booped repeatedly by a goose beak like, “Ma’am, this area is closed to sparkly air traffic”

Other geese reportedly pretended not to see anything, but the squirrel on the bank was absolutely invested.

The butterfly eventually spiraled off in a confused zig‑zag, probably filing a complaint with the Department of Unnecessary Goose Contact.

The mama who lost her babies last year.

The same mama who, when bird rescue released 12 orphaned goslings, stepped up and adopted every single one like it was nothing.
