No, no, no. Don’t make this about me. I’m getting enough rest. You’re not. Oh, come off it, it’s not like you didn’t know this was going to happen. It’s all apart of your method. Right — Czechoslovakia. Are you, uh, excited to go?
You're right, you are, which means you can accompany around on my last few days here, if you wouldn't mind. Yeah, it's my method completely, I just like to make it sound like I'll change for the better. I heard it takes twenty-one days to break a habit, and I've got about a week and two days. I've only been there once or twice, haven't seen much of what the place has to offer. I wouldn't say I'm entirely excited, San Francisco has been very kind to me.
Well, I think it’s genius and my opinion is the only one that really mattes. Sponsor it or test it?
That's a good attitude. Be the genius who doesn't care what people say, and also tests it on themselves.
Neither am I. You just need some duct tape and some tubes. It could. It could also be the most genius idea in the world.
I'm not sure how genius the world would think of it, but hey, if you actually get it to happen. I'll be the first to sponsor it.
Uh, no. Sleep. You need your sleep, I don’t need you knackered off your arse while leading an entire orchestra.
The show's in a week exactly, I've got a lot of high expectations to exceed once again and so do you. It's sad to remember my time here is so limited, yet here I am still trying to compose this piece. Really should've thought this more thoroughly. Perhaps I'll do that once I'm in Czechoslovakia, I'll have quite a bit of time there anyways.
You could always make something to feed coffee into your system while you sleep.
I was never all that good in science or math, but then again that suggestion is sort of disturbing. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of sleeping if you're going to be drinking coffee anyways?
Could've sworn the sun was just in the sky, also could've sworn it was Sunday as well. Looks like I'll either be needing some more coffee or sleep, but we all know which one is going to be chosen.
Nikolai, your modesty is overwhelming. You do speak the truth, though, Mr. Prodigy. I wouldn’t say I’m the star, I mean, the entire company is amazing, and people come for the music, as well! I doubt you’ll even be back in Russia for too long, you’ll have thousands of job offers the second you get back. Great, it probably won’t be anything too great, though. I mean, we could just hang around my apartment, maybe watch a few films? Order something in?
I enjoy the face that you're still so humble, but trust me, I only give compliments where they're due. If it's Chinese takeout I'm definitely in, we don't quite have that back in the homeland and I have yet to have it here.
God — I know, I’m so — I actually think I might be sick with nerves, if I’m being honest, but it’ll be great. I’m sure it’ll be… It’ll go smoothly, right? Oh, right, yeah, I keep… uh, forgetting that you’re here only temporarily. But hey! Sometime before you leave, make sure you clear out a day for me. I’d love a little more time before you have to go back to Russia.
It'll be magnificent. You do have the best composer in all of Russia, in all of Europe actually, performing. And you're the star of the night, of course, nerves mean nothing when you're out on stage. I've always hated the temporary, but I'm afraid I've gotten far too used to the word by now. Well, Ms. Pemberly, I'm all yours.
Have I? I must be magic then.
I’m only kidding, but flattery will get you everywhere. Are you so tired because you’ve been working so hard on your piece? Have you broken the tradition of leaving it ‘til the last minute?
What's the point of breaking tradition just yet? I should probably get working on something atleast, the show is in two weeks. But I would also have to think of leaving as well and I must say Denver has really grown on me.
Ooh, I’ll entertain you! Or — I can try, I mean. No promises I’ll be any good at it, though.
It looks like you're already doing so, it's only been a few minutes and you're already lifting me from the spell of just sleeping again.
I'm at a loss of things to do, I need some entertainment.
Sneak it in if it’s small. There are lots of ways to keep a dog in a hotel room.
The last thing I would want is to be called some sort of dog smuggler, I don't think I'm willing to risk the rep.
Why wouldn’t you? I’m sure they’re missing their dog, could even be worried sick. Unless you think they left it behind on purpose.
If it isn't the voice of reason, I mean look at it, it's practically begging to be kept. They'll call soon enough once they realize he's gone, he's in good hands anyways.
I say keep it,
Too bad the job won't allow it, don't think many hotels like the idea of a pet. Ah well, I'll keep it until they call.
Manager left their dog, still debating whether or not to contact them about it.
