Emma held her close, running her fingers gently through Nina’s hair. “I know, my love. But it will.” She had to believe that. The redhead had honor Brad the best way she knew how which was why their son’s name was Wyatt. Brad’s middle name. “I love you too.” She wasn’t going anywhere. Especially today. She was there for her wife. “Come on, baby. Let’s get you up and get you dressed to go.”

“I’m not too sure about that.” Nina sighed, moving to get up so she could get dressed. “Alright... I can do this.” She said quietly, though she wasn’t sure if she was trying to convince herself or Emma.

Jeff smiled softly when he saw that it was Nina that had greeted him. “Hey.” He repeated, motioning for her to join him on the bench. “I’m sure you have a million places to run off to but if you want to sit, I wouldn’t mind the company.”

Nina shrugged. “I don’t have to be at the restaurant for a bit.” She admitted, glancing around before looking back at him. “I think I czn spare some time.”

“Well more like Emma and you.” Martin had no idea why he was nervous about this. Maybe because of what his brother had did to the woman’s wife. “I want to see the twins. Promise not crazy like any of my siblings.”

Nina eyed him carefully. “No offence, but just saying that you promise doesn’t really fill me with the greatest confidence.”

Jeff hadn’t expected to be back in Baberton this long. Honestly, he didn’t know why he was still here. Things with Tara hadn’t worked out. Things with Elliot seemed more strained than ever and Nina… He didn’t blame her for not wanting anything to do with him. He had hoped that just by staying in town it would maybe prove something to her but he wasn’t sure if that was working. He was so lost in thought that it took him a minute or two before he looked up and noticed that someone was speaking to him. “I’m sorry, what?”

Nina looked up and noticed him standing there. She spoke but he didn’t seem to hear at first and she was trying to decide whether to wander away awkwardly when he seemed to register she’d spoken. “I just... said hey.” She worked up a light smile.

When she started crying again, Emma moved up and wrapped her arms around her wife. Hugging her closely, kissing the side of her head. “It will get easier, my love within time.” Being there for her wife today was what mattered. “We can do whatever you want today. I’m not going anywhere. I’m with you.”

Nina closed her eyes, leaning into Emma’s arms with a little sigh. “It hasn’t so far..” She said, shaking her head. Nina felt better with Emma here though, it was comforting to have her wife here for her. “I love you..” She murmured. “We can go... I should go...” Nina knew she would anyway, even if she put it off all day.

Emma just got back from dropping the twins off to her mother. Moving into the bedroom, she went over to her wife. Leaning down next to the bed. “Come on, I got us some flowers to take to him and some cupcakes and pizza.” She remembered that Nina said that was their thing. Pizza. “My mum can keep the twins for as long as we need her to.” She told her softly, reaching out to brush some hair out of her eyes. It seemed like this day was the toughest. “We can always go later also if you want.”

Nina had been lying there for hours. She didn’t want to move. This happened every year and she hated it. Pizza. Nina started crying a little then, shaking her head as she turned over a little. It was such a silly thing to set her off. “I just want it to get easier...”

madeline--benson:

“Yeah, just tired.” Madeline gave her best smile. Looking down at the pram for a moment before back to Nina. “Some more coffee would be great.”

Nina glanced into the pram with a smile before looking back at Madeline and nodding. “Sure, coming right up.”

“Yeah, I’m good.” Carly stated, looking over at Nina for a moment. “Umm–sure. What is good tonight?”

“The cheeseburgers are pretty good tonight.”

“Yeah, I’m fine. Promise.” Brian smiled over at her for a moment. “I need a to-go order please.”

“Sure thing.”

“Yeah..just great.” Chase sighed a little bit, looking at his watch again. “Umm–what is on special tonight?” He was waiting for Paul but clearly the man had gotten busy.

“You sure about that?” She couldn’t help but ask, before she shrugged lightly. “It’s the fish and chips tonight.”

“What? Oh yeah, I’m good.” Benji smiled over at her for a moment. “I was actually looking for your wife or hope she would pop in. I’ve got the monthly reports for her. But a coffee would be great.”

“Oh, she might pop in soon-ish.” She said, checking the time. “If not, I can always pass them along.” Nina turned to fix him up a coffee. “Here you go.”

“What? Oh yeah, good.” Martin sighed a little bit, looking over at her for a moment. “Actually…I want to talk to you.”

“Oh, yeah? What about?”

“Yeah, just up in my head lately.” Elliot admitted, looking over at her. “Refresh on the coffee? And how about you take a break and sit with me?”

“Anything you wanna talk about?” She wondered, shrugging as she grabbed the coffee pot and gave him a refill. Glancing around the place before she moved to sit. “I suppose I can spare a few minutes.” she chuckled slightly.

elizabeth--ford:

She had left the house. That was something, right? She still wasn’t okay. It was still hard to get out of bed in the morning. She had also been sitting here for probably a little over an hour. She didn’t know what else to do or where to go. She looked up when she heard Nina’s voice. “Oh… could I perhaps get a martini?

Imogen’s grandmother. Of course Nina had heard about Richard, how could she not? She offered the woman a soft smile, nodding as she moved over to the bar area. “Coming right up...”

ella---burke:

“What?” Ella questioned, looking up at the brunette for a moment. Realizing that it was Nina. “Just a refill and whatever you suggest is good on the menu tonight.”

Nina realised it was Ella. Gina had confided in her about seeing the girl and she felt a bit of a jolt at seeing her, just bringing Gina’s face back to her again. “Course.” She nodded, grabbing a refill for her. “Uh, well we’ve got some pretty good burgers on the go right now if you’re in the mood for that.”

emma--williamson:

Emma knew that her wife was going through a hard time. And she hated that she wasn’t able to help her. Honestly Emma wished that she could do more somehow. She placed another kiss onto her neck. “You sure? You know you can talk to me about anything. I’m here for you.” She told her softly, before moving to sit down next to her. “If he does drag your mum along are you going to be okay with that?” She questioned, reaching for Nina’s hand. “That they did surprisingly. I think we just wore them out this morning.”

Nina shrugged. “Just... thinking about Gina... and everything.” It was true... she missed her, and she missed Adrian... he’d sort of betrayed her but having the truth out had been better in the long run. And Gina... had she been stalking her? It was difficult to understand and Nina wasn’t sure if she wanted to. “I guess I’ll just have to be.” Nina shrugged, but she didn’t know if she would really be okay with it. She was honestly still angry that her parents had waltzed back in again anyway. “Good.. they need the rest... and so do we.” Nina teased with a light chuckle.

Ravi immediately looked up rather quickly when he heard her speak to him. “What? Oh…sorry….just had a long night. Could I get a cup of tea?”

Nina offered him a smile, nodding. “Working?” She wondered, before she nodded again. “Of course, I’ll be right back.”
