So, technically, I know Thanksgiving is an American holiday… history… yadda yadda. However, this is not Thanksgiving.
This is Mootsgiving, and what I say goes ‘cause this is my holiday. Anyway! Mootsgiving is all the basic ideas of Thankgiving but better because I’m great like that.
I just wanted to show everyone how grateful I am, since gratefulness is a key principle of Thanksgiving.
I want all my moots from different countries to be able to have the picture-perfect movie-esque Thanksgiving of being surrounded by friends and family with all the care and love and gratefulness that can be poured into a single human. And, as the ever-dramatic Runar, what better way to do that than to organize a huge event?
So! Rules!
State what food you brought
State one thing you’re thankful for
My name is Runar, I brought the eggnog, and I’m grateful for each and every one of you 💗🫶
Really sappy and really long paragraph/speech under the cut!!
Soooo… to start off my big long speech… *clinks my fancy wine glass that’s filled with a mysterious substance* (It’s eggnog)
When I first started this blog, it was off a whim. I wanted to do something, something that involved putting my work out there, as I was just starting out. I wanted to mean something. In any sort of way, I wanted to leave a sort of mark. Not just any mark, though, no. I wanted to add a bit of joy, a spark of life that comes from creativity, and adding words and love into the space we occupy on this floating rock in space.
I wanted to write because it made me happy, and I wanted there to be a possibility of someone who was who got joy from reading to maybe stumble upon it, and get joy from me. Get joy from something I was able to provide for them.
I was also incredibly lonely. I had no friends, I had nothing, pretty much. I didn’t talk much. I was reclusive. I was okay, but I was empty. I didn’t have a purpose. And while I wasn’t expecting much, nothing at all really, I was overjoyed at the prospect that maybe just one person would stumble upon something I wrote and for a moment of their day, maybe they got peace from it.
Maybe they felt a little less lonely. I would have been at peace with just knowing the possibility of it was out there. And then… it did. And I got more than I bargained for, even, I got a friend. My first friend.
From there, everything… clicked. Slowly, but ever so surely, things were falling into place. I was gaining something that had not even crossed my mind. A family.
So, my silly dream born from a whim became friends, connections, and family, it became life-altering. It had ups, it had downs, it had in-betweens. It was beautiful and messy and happy and sad and fucked up and so wonderfully… human?
Yeah, this is online, this is a silly mootsgiving idea I thought up three hours ago because I wanted people to know I love them.
But to someone who had nothing, this is everything. You are everything.
Even if we’ve only talked one time, you have a special place in my heart. The character growth has been… one hell of a ride. I’ve gone through many eras, and made new friends in each and every one of them. So, with the end of the year closing soon, I suppose in a way this is not just a silly mootsgiving.
My bigger end goal, really, was to make sure as we get to the end of this ear, you know how genuinely important this whole year has been to me. How important you have been. I got an anon ask,
What does it feel like to be wanted?
It was beautiful poetry. I replied, said I wouldn’t know what it feels like to be wanted. But really? I think maybe I do. I think it feels like having enough people that you love to organize and invite everyone to a huge event online, to write out this heartfelt paragraph and trust that at least one person will care enough to read it.
My beginning goal has changed so much, and not at all. My biggest purpose in life has been, and I think will always be, to add something into this world.
Creativity, joy, happiness, compassion, I want to ensure that no matter what, as long as you know me, you know you have one person on this earth who loves and cares about you with as much feeling that can physically be felt by one person without exploding into a bunch of tiny little runar pieces.
But moreso, I think maybe my goal has changed from wanting to put stories out there, to putting myself out there. I don’t want to write stories that are just fiction, just crafted ideas meshed together to create a blob of fiction.
I want to write pieces of myself into everything, which i think might genuinely be impossible to not do. I want my heart to pour out of my fingers into the things i type out for you, and i want to not only feel things, but to maybe make you feel something too. Something warm and fuzzy, something good, as good as you deserve.
Yay thank you for inviting me! I'm also grateful for you <333
I'm Ash, I brought pasta (plain pasta, only they're a normal amount of salty. It's my safe food lol). And I'm really, really grateful for the opportunity to go to a mental health specialist, actually getting some help, and my mental health starting to shift for the better.
hello!! i'm raven and i brought cheesecake! and i'm so grateful for everything that has gotten me through this hard year, from my friends (irl and online) to my hyperfixations to a couple of music artists (more specifically, conan gray). i'm so thankful that i discovered all of you, i really really am, i genuinely couldn't have made it through this year without you guys. even if we've only talked once or twice or a hundred times, i hold you all so dearly in my heart. i love you guys <3
i'm so sorry if i forgot anyone, i'm falling asleep on my feet but i just wanted to finish writing this haha
Hi everyone! I'm trix, and I brought pavlova! I know it's not thanksgiving food but it's so good
I'm really really grateful to all of my moots for existing. Every single one of you makes my day so much better every time you appear on my dash, or like one of my posts. I really struggle with self esteem and confidence in myself and my abilities, and I'm so grateful to all of my moots for helping with that, even without knowing it, and so grateful that I've been able to slowly but surely improve on it. I love you guys :]
I'm also really grateful that I have found the motivation to do more art. I used to get discouraged whenever I did a bad drawing, but I've been practising more recently, and I try to draw every day, no matter whether I feel good about my art or not. It's made me more confident and happy in my art and in general.
I'm sorry if I forget anyone or you've already done this lol I'm very sleeby
I'm Arson and I brought cherries because it's summer in Australia and I like cherries
I'm grateful for having all of my friends who make school bearable, and also for the amount of new media that exists in my current would, because I love being able to exist at the same time as some of my favourite fanartists and be a fan of Epic whilst the final 2 sagas come out :)
Npt: @zoyalaisobachka @xrxrxrxrxrxr @nine-is-not-a-ten @thatrandompersonnobodyknows and open tags because I'm grateful for all of you

im so grateful for my bed. its literally my favorite person ever. like it holds me when i'm sad and it wraps me up in hugs, and it cuddles me until i fall asleep. it soaks up my tears and supports my weight, it tolerates stains and crumbs and literal dog pee. it has never left me, and for all that i'm very grateful. also it gives me nice sleepy night times and i like that very much

a movie thats super silly, just about people waking up and suddenly finger guns magically work like real guns. but people start shooting each other, intentionally or not, and people are dying. the movie slowly shifts from sitcom-esque silliness to dark cinematic shots, where you are laughing over the craziness of it all as you and everyone you love is dying left and right. a commentary on how endlessly available power is not suited for human nature, which is one of greed and fear and survival
Which one of the Crows is a theatre kid and why is it all of them?
Kaz
That time he ran into Cornelis Smeet less than a minute after robbing him, and acted out being just a good-natured samaritan so well, that Smeet payed him five kruge and went about his day
His flair for dramatics
The fact that if the show was book-accurate, Kaz would have been the one laying it on thick pretending to be a married couple while Nina was annoyed at how well he fell into the role. He'd be calling her dearest or honeybunch while she forcibly had to stop herself from clenching her fist and stopping his heart right then and there.
The fact that he keeps stealing costumes from an acting troupe to complete his schemes.

Inej
Grew up a circus performer
Dramatic flair
Loves the spotlight (when she's doing a performance and not busy blending in for a job)
If I remember correctly there was this one super dangerous trick she used to do that her dad would loudly announce had never been done before, but she'd shrug it off and complete it flawlessly anyway. Theatre kid energy written all over it.
Jesper
Bisexual (you don't necessarily have to be fruity to be a theatre kid but a lot of us are)
Dramatic flair
"I've always loved a little bit of role play"
Canonically watches a couple of plays in his free time
Loves the spotlight
Sang a sea shanty near the end of Crooked Kingdom and canonically has a really soothing baritone
Nina
Bisexual
Dramatic flair
Was a spy for the Second Army and as such, can disappear into a role flawlessly
Loves the spotlight
Wylan
Gay
Dramatic flair
Canonically studied Nina's acting skills and used them phenomenally against Jan Van Eck
Also probably a band kid which would make him a whole new brand of annoying (affectionate)
Could also be on tech crew, which would make him an entirely new brand of annoying never before seen (still affectionate)
Matthias
Only one I cannot imagine being a theatre kid immediately but that's fine cause his theatre kid friends would all drag him into it willingly or not
It might help him cut loose and have fun once in a while, who knows
i cannot emphasize how necessary it is to have a buddy to participate in fandom with. completely elevated experience. don't have a buddy? find someone you like and message them and be their friend. gush over every sketch and drabble and insane headcanon they have. live life to the fullest.
so yesterday, I came home early from school for a dentists appointment, where I had to get 2 cavities filled. No big deal, I've done it before. I couldn't find my earbuds but that's ok.
later, when I'm sitting on the chair, one of the nurses says "Hey, do you want to get the numbing or no?"
I've never been asked whether i wanted it or not, bc its usually mandatory. Plus, the numbing is given by a syringe in your mouth, which i hate. Of course, my dumbass says "No, I'll probably be fine."
So a couple minutes later, a different (very kind) dentist has a drill in my mouth, and she begins. At first I'm like, "See? It's fine!" until the drill gets deeper.
When I say I screamed, everyone, I fucking screamed. The dentist wasn't even surprised, she just gave me a plastic thing to bite on so I don't bite down on the drill. She offered the numbing needle, but I still fucking refused??
By the end, I was sobbing and shaking in front of all these dentists, who looked so concerned. They said they were pretty impressed I got through it though, whatever the hell that means. "Most adults can't take the pain!" yeah i fucking kNOW
And also I forgot to do my math homework so I'm fuckin cooked
i just spent an hour researching Hinduism for one of my characters and oh my gosh its such a cool religion!
like, history.com says that when india became an independent nation, it (for the most part) took down a toxic social hierarchy in its constitution! it still exists today and is used in some stuff, but looking down on lower classes is less common!
also, there are four main divisions of hinduism, and one of them worships a female goddess and is not overlooked! its so cool!
i got all this from history.com and am in no way an expert, so please correct me if i'm wrong on anything/everything! i just think this is SUPER DUPER COOL
(here's the article: https://www.history.com/topics/religion/hinduism#hindu-places-of-worship)
seriously, i'm reiterating this: please please correct me if i'm wrong
As an Indian, I always find this kinda stuff so sweet <3
I'm not Hindu but I can tell you that's right!
After Independence, the government has schemes and stuff to make sure the people who were in lower castes get the opportunities they missed in the past via reservations. And yes, unfortunately, there are some jerks who believe caste should still be prevalent but it's getting better cuz it's mostly just old people.
There are many Gods and Goddesses in Hinduism and as far as I know, ALL of them are treated with equal respect and importance. (Right? @potterarmy1218 help me)
Okay, so, even though I'm a Hindu myself, I do not know all the gods. Just the main gods and I doubt anyone *ever* knows all the gods cause there are so many of them. There's practically one for every village. (I am not kidding).
And yes, all of them are treated with equal respect. Some people worship a certain god as their "family god" (translated from my language cause I don't if there's a term for it in English) but on the whole, everyone respects all the gods.
Goddesses (again, there are sooo many of them) are very much prominent in Hinduism. The only place where you can find gender equality in our religion is probably in this aspect, lol. People generally worship the gods they feel drawn to or the one their family has worshipped for ages. A lot of these are goddesses and they are considered as the "protectors" of the family as much as the gods.
Anything a god can do so can a goddess. There is even a certain myth where the demon (who we call Asura) underestimates women and asks for a boon from another god that only a woman could kill.
Do not ask me why a god would grant a demon a boon. That is how it is. When I asked, the answer I got was that he prayed for years and such prayer cannot be ignored by the gods. Anyway, the demon is killed by a goddess who is born just to kill him. Yup, totally a feminist story from ancient times. This is probably one of my favourite myths.
Oh and castes. Those are the worst parts of my religion. Old people still believe them but the newer generation can't really bother to care. It's also more prominent on rural sides as the divisions are physically visible. Like, lower castes get the worse sides of the village and are banned from certain privileges and a lot of times, even the bare necessities.
Since education is better on the urban side and people are more focused on working here, it's better. Thankfully, the government is actively helping these people get out of poverty and discrimination through various schemes and reservations. Though, I believe that education, while slow, is steadily removing these old age prejudices and oppressions.
thats SO INTERESTING!!! I'm so glad that people are becoming more and more open and accepting, and its just such a wonderful thing in showing how our world is changing and growing for the better! thanks a ton for that stuff, @potterarmy1218 and @preposterousreblogs! this is so cool this is so cool
