the amount of bugs I have now is really amazing, it really confirms my opinion that the insect decline is caused by biotic homogenization or as I like to say Plant Sameness

I've gotten some really interesting insights on how the soil seed bank works, and how plant populations work when surrounded by lawn or frequently mowed/disturbed area.

Essentially it seems the plant population in the small area you have tried to diversify has to reach a critical mass to where it can produce enough seeds that it can get a foothold in surrounding dense plant populations (e.g. of lawn grass)

Diversity of genetics also might affect seed set and thus ability to spread.

I have been observing a lot about how plants spread from place to place. A bunch of my neighbors have evening-primroses in their flower beds now...almost certainly courtesy of my evening primrose army.

Like many, Im a huge fan of Yvan Bilibin illustrations and paintings, I have been inspired by his amazing work for years now, but never took the time to try to infuse it in my own work. these days, Im trying new methods and ways to start a painting. For this one, even tho I had an idea in mind, I first painted rough blobs of greens, added the character in one go afterwards, and then tried to make sense of everything.

Note that strength in sense of identity doesn't necessarily mean you love living in your country, state, region, etc. nor does it mean you uncritically agree with the government of your government, state, municipality, only that you find it important to your understanding of who you are culturally.
