I've been #noticing and #observing the recently ever-present silver bracelet that Hudson has been wearing for over a month, noting how he seeeeems to basically never take it off except for branded events. This is the bracelet in question:
The HW Closet page only recently clocked it, posting that it's the BB Icon Thin Gourmette Bracelet ($395 - sold out). It's Balenciaga, yes, BUT I have a strong spidey sense feeling that this is actually a personal item -- a gift to H from C, to be more exact. And I'll tell you why.
Remember how we were noticing that H was seldom wearing his chicken bracelet anymore from basically post Oscars until June? Now the timing of this is all important, so buckle up. It's true that H wasn't wearing that bracelet with any regularity mid March through May, and it was being discussed in fandom spaces for sure. I believe the first time we saw it in QUITE a while was that mid-June fan pic posted from LA; his other wrist was not visible in the photo, but I am guessing it had the silver bracelet on it. Why you ask?
Mid May (during week of Doom Couch, Ice Cream Hang, etc.), Hudson was seen in the surprise!friends video back in VC wearing no bracelets. Chicken hadn't been spotted in quite a while, and silver bracelet hadn't appeared yet. Then in late May (5/27, to be exact), I believe that's the first time we see the silver bracelet appear, at what was essentially an informal fans Meet & Greet in VC lol. It appears solo at this first spotting of the bracelet, no chicken along with it.
We have pix of Huddy from CSAs weekend of course, but those are times when he's wearing brands for the photos (his pre-event lil hotel photoshoot + of course at the CSAs itself), then that picture outside of Roots but only one wrist is visible (I'm guessing he had silver bracelet on other wrist, but we can't be sure!).
Then Huddy goes to ATL for some amount of days post-CSA, back to VC (with a few photos but none that show both wrists at any point), and then later in June, he's in NYC. And he's donning the silver bracelet, again. Both the night at the bar, andddd when he went to see that play. Unclear if chicken bracelet is on but silver one definitely is at both (unbranded, Living His Life) events he was photographed at on this NYC trip.
A few days later is RNG where 1) K didn't attend with H and a group of his friends; 2) the chicken bracelet is distinctly NOT there - but a cute land leopard beaded bracelet is instead, and 3) ah yes, silver bracelet strikes again. H was attending for pleasure/socialization, not as a work obligation, and so obviously his whole outfit was his choosing. Interesting.
And then we get to Paris -> Greece trip/circus/shit show. I won't post all the pix but just know, I went back through to look -- and EXCEPT for the Balenciaga PFW day where he obviously didn't choose his own fit, Hudson is wearing the silver bracelet every. single. time. And the chicken bracelet is there consistently again, alongside it.
Now with Huddy in Korea, we've only gotten one outfit where his wrists are visible at all -- and lo and behold, not ONLY is he wearing the silver bracelet of course, but in this short clip, he's rubbing the bracelet up and down, perhaps as a comfort thing? <3
Funnily enough, this IS a Balenciaga bracelet and yet he took it off for the Balenciaga event at PFW (and doesn't wear any other bracelet in its stead). Almost as if it is a personal item, not one gifted to him by the brand...
Could it be that sometime in May before Huddy went to Toronto for CSAs, Connor bought Hudson this bracelet (and had it sent to him) -- knowing that H's team had asked him to start wearing the chicken one again (since people kept pointing out its absence), and H felt weird about that... but having a reminder of Connie on his other wrist every day would at least help with the weirdness some? Furthermore, they decided it was best to choose a Balenciaga one so that once people clocked the bracelet, it wouldn't seem weird that he was suddenly wearing it all the time because oh, he works with them a lot?
