How to Break the Vevo Record with Look What You Made Me Do

“The 24-Hour Vevo Record, commonly referred to as the Vevo Record, is the record for the most views a music video associated with Vevo has received within 24 hours of its release. The video that currently holds this record is “Hello” by Adele with 27.7 million views.”

Us swifties have beaten this record before with Bad Blood, we made it reach 20.3 million views in 24 hours and we had the record for a solid 159 days until Adele came out with Hello and got 27.7 million views in 24 hours. She has been holding this record for 674 days and its time we take it back. We are currently at 11.2 million views and we are 6 hours in. We have 18 hours left to get another 16.5 million views and I know if we work together, we can do it!

Tips on how to effectively contribute to breaking the vevo record:

Watch it one time on every YouTube account you have

And then log out of your YouTube account: apparently being logged in to your account does not count each view but saves all your views for the hour as one so even if you view it multiple times, it will only count as one

Only have it open in one tab and do not use automated tools: having it open in multiple tabs or using some sort of automated tool will make the site think you are a bot and will not count your views

Hit refresh not replay: hitting replay will not count as another view

You can REFRESH the page after just one minute of the video: your view should still count as you will have watched a large portion of the video

Keep the volume on: if you do not want to have to listen to the sound of multiple videos playing at once on different devices or you’re sick of the song, you can always plug in a pair of headphones and let it play through that

Do this on EVERY device you can: so if you have three devices you’ll be contributing triple the amount of views as you would be if you just used once device

I know that if we all do this and contribute as much as possible until the last second that we can definitely beat this record and regain it as our own once again.

at the beginning of the video, taylor crawled out from a grave that was engraved with “here lies taylor swift’s reputation,” whilst wearing the out of the woods dress. it’s the one she was running in through several treacherous, chaotic hurdles and situations, feeling like she couldn’t outrun the media/public’s nonsensical opinions, and their exploitation of her personal life.

there’s something profound, important and empowering about the way she mercilessly filled the grave of her “old self” in, alluded to the #taylorswiftisoverparty and buried all of the media’s “little games" they’ve played with all of her past selves. she’s continuously persevered through pain, and she’s channelling it into rising above and reclaiming every joke, caricature and incessant remark that’s been made about her over the course of a decade. she’s wholly taking back control of her life, her narrative and her reputation and she’s stronger than ever. we’re all so incredibly proud of you, taylor.
