sew-much-to-do: a visual collection of sewing tutorials/patterns, knitting, diy, crafts, recipes, etc.
also considering that tim burton is not at all present in wendell and wild's production can we finally stop crediting the brilliance of nightmare before christmas to him and coraline also esp bc he literally didn't even work on coraline either. that's all henry selick baby
Fave song from the 70s/80s GO
St. Elmo's Fire by John Parr has been my favorite for a couple years now
But I'm Still Standing by Elton John is threatening to take over
I'm SO sorry, this is blatant Holding Out For A Hero erasure. Idk how I could make such a mistake. This has also been tied for first for a couple years lmao
i can't choose one blue don't do this to me:
Twilight by ELO. Honest all of ELO's shit is slapping
(Don't Fear) the Reaper by Blue Ăyster Cult, for obvious reasons
The Crystal Ship by The Doors. Technically 3 years off, released in 1967, but I'm counting it anyways cause it's a jam and encapsulates the whole vibe of the late 60s and early 70s (Also lumping in California Dreamin' by the Mama's and the Papas and Play with Fire by the Rolling Stones here cause they're both 1965 but they count in my heart).
Moonage Daydream by David Bowie. It blew up bc of the MCU but it's still a killer song. But like ELO p much any David Bowie song could be here.
Under Pressure by Queen & David Bowie. Speaking of which lol. It's brainworming me cause of a M*A*S*H amv someone posted. I don't even watch M*A*S*H but the AMV was something else.
Hey You by Pink Floyd. Again just another really good song.
Hotel California by The Eagles. Can't not mention it, especially since it was cleared up that the Eagles wanted to make a Twilight Zone-esque song, and not it being a metaphor for hollywood. Also i had an extremely cursed mp3 of it for years, and it just added to it.
Country Roads, Take me Home by John Denver. C'mon man what else you want me to say?
She Brings Me Love by Bad Company for the sole reason that iirc it was used in the first SPN sex scene so how can i not love it?
anyways i'm much more into late 20's/early 30's and could give a much more succinct response on that topic
I forgot about Under Pressure
Mr. Blue Sky by ELO is a frequent ear worm of mine so I've gotta check out Twilight! I love it bc the writer said he was struggling hard to come up with a single lyric for a song amid two weeks of rainy days, and when the sun finally came out, he immediately wrote Mr. Blue Sky, and honestly that feeling comes through lol
Some of the others are new to me, so I'm off to listen!
My list from the 70s/80s
Slayer - Angel of Death (Is about the terror of the Holocaust, it is NOT a glorification)
Dead or Alive - Like a Record (is also a fave)
Nik Kershaw - The Riddle
Alphaville - Sounds Like a Melody (Capella used their tune in the 90s.)
Culture Club - Karma Chameleon
Sandy Marton - Camel by Camel (loved it before the thing)
Metallica - Ride the Lightning (the entire album tbh)
Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast
Iron Maiden - Phantom of the Opera (Pre Bruce)
Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up
Toto - Africa
Toto - Hold the Line
Meatloaf - Bat out of Hell (idk if this one counts)
Metallica - Dyers Eve (counts, from 1988!)
Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train
Black Sabbath - War Pigs (REALLY GOOD)
Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus
Judas Priest - Painkiller
Queen - Innuendo
I'm gonna add more when it's not 2 am lmao
I Ran - Flock of Seagulls Sweet Dreams are Made of These Owner of a Lonely Heart I just love the early days of analog synths becoming more widely available there's so many interesting synth sounds.
Yesssss
Only one of these I could possibly disagree with is Hotel California and it has far less to do with the actual song as it does hearing it causes flashbacks to a couple of people I knew who would spend hours trying to probe the mysteries of a song that Don Henley himself was written to be fake deep or something like that.
Stairway to Heaven is another one.
But also adding on
Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle
Guns N' Roses - Paradise City
Literally pretty much the entirety of Appetite for Destruction,
MURRAY HEAD One night in Bangkok Song about a chess tournament in a rock opera about chess written by the 2 dudes from ABBA and sung by Anthony Stewart Head's brother, we've got a winner.
Rush - Tom Sawyer TF you got a whole mess of Prog Rock bands on here and no Rush for.
Prince & The Revolution - Let's Go Crazy - See previous statement, also missing is nearly anything by Styx that isn't Mr Roboto
Morris Day & The Time - Jungle love I was on Purple Rain, can't skip Morris Day and
you just had to pick an all round goated era and not the two decades that i could narrow myself to a specific genre.
iâm limiting myself to 10 of 21 that i wrote
in no particular order:
Children Of The Sea - Black Sabbath (Dio is best)
Foreplay/Long Time - Boston (intro is so much better than the rest of the already amazing song)
When The Levee Breaks - Led ZeppelinÂ
Atomic Punk - Van Halen
Roundabout - Yes
Black Star - Yngwie Malmsteen
Diary of a Madman - Ozzy Osbourne
Shame on the Night - Dio (once again Dio is best)
Burn - Deep Purple (Jon Lord gave us the best instrument in rock history)
Peace of Mind - Boston (every element is independent but working together perfectly, just listen to the bass)
Catch me adding every single one of these to a playlist and just letting it rip lmao
Inktober.
Day 6 - Faerie.
âSweet display of affectionâÂ

Bad Cats.
OP, you fool. These are THE BEST CATS
Stanley is so chaotic I love him
But sometimes you just need to loosen your grip instead of letting go completely.
oversized shirt with no pants on and messy hair, i mean, perfection.
Youâre not supposed to win or lose arguments. Youâre supposed to reach a mutual understanding and agreement. Otherwise, you both lose.
incomplete list of ordinary things that are intimate when u do them for/with someone u love:
-unbuttoning or unzipping clothing
-putting on their necklace
-any hair touching at all
-giving them a bite of your food and u feed it to them off ur own fork
-catching their eye from across the room
-picking fuzz off their clothing
-cooking together and standing over the same pan while you stir and they add things
-sitting in the same room working on different things together in silence
-teaching them how to do something
-doing something for them bc their hands are full
-grocery shopping together
I feel like having a lack of empathy is misunderstood by a lot of people. I still feel my own emotions as strongly as anyone, but with other people, itâs more that I can just sort of recognize their feelings rather than feel for them.
I wish I could feel empathy, I wish I could flip a switch and turn it on and off as I please, because as it stands now, I canât really connect with people. All I can do is analyze behavior and mannerisms, and even when I figure out their emotions from that, I donât know what to do next. If itâs a situation I can relate to, I can go, âOh I remember how that felt for me, so wow this must be rough for you,â but beyond that Iâm kind of lost. Iâll feel sympathy for someone, I can feel sorry for them, but I donât actually feel sad for them. I wonât lose any sleep over it, Iâll just go, âwow sucks for them, if I can help I will but if I canât then oh well.â
People say they donât want your pity, but thereâs really nothing more I can give them.
