ok i started reading The Two Towers again, bc i only got halfway through last time and i don't want to jump to the middle after over a year's break

but oh my god. the movies did not convey just how much the big folk of the Fellowship adored their hobbits

i just read the line Legolas said "Come! Let us go on! The thought of those merry young folk driven like cattle burns my heart."

The way the trio fretting over the fate of two little hobbits and pushing beyond their physical limitations to rescue them is just.

that's just so nice!!!

however, it's also very likely that to Legolas, hobbits are kinda like kittens, which makes sense bc i too would run ceaselessly for days just for the small chance of rescuing a couple of kittens
