‘She who destroys’
Kali or Kalika is the Hindu goddess associated with eternal energy. In her most famous pose as Daksinakali, it is said that Kali, becoming drunk on the blood of her victims on the battlefield, dances with destructive frenzy.

“I am easily attainable, O Arjuna, by that ever steadfast yogi who always thinks of Me and whose mind does not go elsewhere.”
-Bhagavad Gita, 8.14
Perhaps one of the greatest things we can be in life is steadfast. The ability to weather the storms of life and come out of them stronger for it is a remarkable one. Some of life’s most admired people have gained that high regard and affection…

The Wisdom and Teachings of Sri ShivaRudra Balayogi
The Goal of Spirituality
The mind either goes outward to run in the world or it becomes quiet and goes inward toward the Self. All spiritual practices allow the mind to settle and go toward the Self, the Divine within.
“Everyone, consciously or unconsciously, is searching for Peace and Happiness. You are suffering because you have forgotten your Real Self. Once you Realize that you are this Immortal Self, you will Realize that your very existence is Permanent and Supreme Peace.”
“This has to be experienced. Nobody else can do it for you. You cannot demonstrate it to anyone else, or define it in words. Just like you cannot simply define what space is, and you cannot measure space by any scale. It is all pervading. It is an amazing thing. If at all you want to measure the space and know the space, you have to become space itself.”
The Spiritual Path
Humans have a triple responsibility: Physical Health, Mental Health, and Moral health.
Physical Health
Eat lightly, do physical exercise such as yoga asana, and utilize pranayama breathing exercises. Care for the body but don’t over-indulge or rely too much upon it. The body should be given its due, but no more.
Mental Health
In order to care for the mind, sadhana should be undertaken. Sadhana means the daily effort you put into your spiritual practice. All such practices calm the mind and purify mental habits.
“You need to bring your mind under your control and discover who you really are; the greatest wonder and the greatest miracle is when you attain Peace and Realize your existence as the Immortal Soul.”
Dedication, Discipline, and Patience are the keywords to successful sadhana. Through dedication, you will make sadhana a priority. Through discipline, you will practice daily. And if you have patience, you will definitely see results.
Forms of sadhana include dhyana yoga, karma yoga, jnana yoga, and bhakti yoga.
Dhyana yoga means meditation that is performed without an external anchor, such as a mantra or following the breath. No imaginations are used either, such as visualizations.
With karma yoga, one performs selfless service while giving up the sense of doership. The practitioner takes no credit for success and acts without expectations, only doing as a service and a duty. This allows the mind to surrender and become quiet.
In jnana yoga, one discriminates between the Real and the unreal. Self-inquiry is the main practice involved, which can begin as an intellectual process but leads beyond the mind.
Lastly, bhakti yoga is devotion to the divine as a single form or formlessness. As single-pointed attention develops upon that object of devotion, the sense of “I” becomes lost in that divinity.
Moral Health
Morality means being mindful of the larger cause beyond oneself. Normally action is taken if it pleases one’s body or mind–or if one is trying to avoid pain. This kind of thinking enforces the ego, our sense of separateness. By thinking of others and being mindful of the larger cause, we can often overcome things we thought impossible.
There is a prayer: May all beings in all worlds know peace, freedom, and happiness. This kind of prayer exactly emphasizes such a morality. This world and the universe would be a better place if everyone were at ease, free, and happy. The party is always better when everyone is enjoying it. And when you pray like this for all beings, you are also included.
Obstacles on the Spiritual Path
The major obstacle on the spiritual path is ego. The ego is the separate sense of self with which we constantly struggle. When we talk about self-confidence, self-love, and insecurity, we are struggling with the ego. As we overcome the illusion of ego, ideas of self-confidence and self-love lose meaning. You are love. You are the confidence that is Reality.
On a more technical level, every imagination of the mind is ego. Who you really are–the Self of all selves–cannot be reflected by imagination. Thus any imagination you might have about yourself is either about a false self that does not exist (the ego) or it is a limited idea about the limitless Self.
Therefore, in order to discover yourself as that Immortal Soul, it is recommended to practice meditation. As the mind becomes focused and all imaginations are lost, the Self is rediscovered through realization.
The Guru
“The one who wants you to experience the Truth for your Self and who can lead you towards the experience of Truth is the real Guru. The real Guru would like you to stand on your own feet. The more you go [inward], you feel nearer to the Guru, your Real Self.“
The true guru is not concerned with accumulating wealth from their disciples nor indenturing their servitude.
“No person is worthless who lightens anyone’s burden at all.”
— Mahatma Gandhi
