Ok so I’m on ch 559 which means I’ve only got like about 150 ch. left but let me just say this before the end. While Sasuke and Naruto being romantic is more ambiguous in the manga than in the anime there is still no denying that they are soulmates. Several metaphors involving them. Sun and moon. Wind and fire. River and ocean. Yin and Yang. Sasuke calling Naruto his “one and only”. Naruto having a panic attack when everyone around him says he has to kill Sasuke. Sasuke not being able to kill Naruto. Naruto saying we would rather die with Sasuke than become Hokage without him. Whether that’s romantic or platonic doesn’t really matter because they’re soulmates. They can’t live without each other and that’s a fact hope that helps

On Sasuke’s prettiness and Naruto’s type

Naruto’s type of men are feminine-looking, pretty men. He commented on Haku’s looks and the men he created for the jutsu are clearly ones he’d think are attractive.

He really just had to draw Sasuke so poised and beautiful here. I saw some Japanese commenters say he’s more graceful and beautiful than Kishimoto’s female characters.

Is that so Naruto…. and when you add to this how Kishimoto mentioned Sasuke being hard to draw because of him being pretty. But there’s something else I want to muse over;

Now we know that characters mistaking Sasuke for a girl is supposed to be a nod to him being a pretty boy (this also happens to Griffith from Berserk) but isn’t it curious how the person who mistooks him for a girl is Kushina, Naruto’s mom?

If you have ever followed fandom discourse, narhina and narsaku shippers have fought over which girl Kushina would approve of/prefer for Naruto, and also which one of them resembles Kushina more. I find it curious this throwaway suggestion of Sasuke being a girl is done by Kushina specifically. And that right after, she wishes Sasuke to become friends with Naruto. To me this is a sneaky way to have Naruto’s mom approve Sasuke, and only him. She never meets any of Naruto’s other friends, including Sakura or Hinata, never has any opinion on them. I think the girl line is simply just a “haha imagine if Sasuke was a girl, wouldn’t that make his and Naruto’s relationship–” Now, Sasuke obviously isn’t a girl. But Kushina approved him. This was like a fated meeting before the tragedy. When you add to this Naruto stumbling over his words when talking to Minato how he hasn’t found a girl…
