Whenever I take breaks from drawing and stop posting for a few days on Instagram I inevitably loose followers, which is bullshit.
PLEASE, if you follow an artist on literally ANY PLATFORM, please do not unfollow them due to inactivity. We’re not machines, it’s important to take breaks to avoid art burn out, or some artists have already reached art burn out or art block, or like with me, to avoid straining your dominant hand from drawing so much. If you really want to support us you’d stay even if we go inactive for a bit. We have personal lives. We don’t have to post daily or even consistently. Unless an artist specifically states that their blog is going to be indefinitely inactive, there’s no reason to unfollow them when they take breaks of inactivity.
I’d say this is similar with what artists draw. Please don’t follow artists for one specific thing/fandom and not support their other art, or WORSE, unfollow them if they move onto a different thing/fandom.
Also this is the last thing I might be posting for a bit. My dominant hand is still hurting, and I shouldn’t be typing as such.
