i believe the doctor is having a similar experience in "time heist" when he is arguing with psy who says "that's why you call yourself the doctor? the professional detachment". like, the gang just witnessed a "suicide" and the doctor was the only one watching it all the way through and oh boy, that man WAS shaking

i finished ravenous a few weeks ago but i still constantly think about this arc and especially "the day of the master" 2-part finale. my god, i cried my eyes out because of freaking Artron. my babygirl, i love you so much and i am so, so sorry

the thing about "do you think i care for you so little that betraying me would make a difference" is that in one context it's a beautiful toxic declaration of love and devotion and then in the context of that two part episode and specifically the antagonist of that two part episode, it's the best character study the show has ever done

Doctor Who is the best show in the world because in one episode 12 asks Bill about what happened on her date and Bill clearly a bit peeved goes "The uh. United Nations secretary general?" and the Doctor seemingly assuming that this is some new hip code for lesbian sex responds “…Awesome :)"
