This past week was one for the memory books. My 14-year-old daughter experienced a powerful milestone—she harvested her first deer. It was more than just a moment of success; it was a chance to pause and reflect on the beauty of God’s provisions and His perfect timing.

As she sat in stillness, waiting for the right opportunity, it reminded us of the patience and trust we are called to have in life. When the moment came, she handled it with responsibility and respect, understanding the balance of life and the gift provided. Afterward, we knelt together, taking time to honor the animal and thank God for His creation, His provision, and the lessons He teaches us through experiences like these.

Hunting is about so much more than the harvest. It’s about learning to respect the land, the creatures He has placed here, and the values of stewardship and gratitude. Watching her grow not just as a hunter, but as a young woman grounded in faith, filled my heart with gratitude.

God’s timing is always perfect, whether it’s in the stillness of a quiet morning or the excitement of a first achievement. I’m so proud of her and thankful for the moments that teach us to trust in Him.
