not to post on here in the first time in forever but since this blog is where it all first started, i'm back with a little update.

so, how it started:

idk if anyone who witnessed my spring 2023 descent into madness is still active on here and/or remembers but uhh. obviously my opinion of aijā went from "it's fine" to "i am in love" very quickly but the story doesn't end there!

what happened next: i realised i had free will and also could do hard things so i went on a "fuck anxiety" trip to riga by myself to see the boys in their big concert in september 2023.

and then i saw them in london (feb 2024), and then tallinn (april 2024, where i also met another finnish fan), and then helsinki (oct 2024, that i dragged my best friend to and where i ran into the guys on the street before the gig and where kārlis v handed me his pick right from the stage) and another helsinki (oct 2025).

and finally, back to riga this past weekend except this time i didn't go alone, but with my best friend and the finnish fan i met in tallinn, and you bet we were up in the fan zone, and yes that is mmz's drumstick he tossed at us at the end of the gig.

as for my opinion on aijā after hearing it live eleven times: it's fine ❤

still not gonna watch eurovision this year and still struggling with my relationship to the contest as a whole but watching kaj win mello was a massive dose of serotonin straight to my brain

so anyway i've obvs not been following the contest but i have been following the drama and jesus christ. like the contest has obviously been unsustainable for years but idk how they can recover from this year. like at this point if i was the ebu i'd really be wondering if it was worth it anymore. oh well

Äänestysturnaus parhaasta viimeiseksi sijoittuneesta Suomea edustaneesta euroviisusta - Intropostaus

Suomi on ollut Euroviisuissa viimeisellä sijalla 10 kertaa, 11 kertaa jos lasketaan mukaan vuoden 2009 viimeinen sija kilpailun finaalissa. Ainoastaan Norja pystyy kilpailemaan Suomen kanssa tässä kategoriassa yhdellätoista viimeisellä sijallaan (mutta on heillä enemmän niitä voittojakin). Mutta mikä on näistä Suomen viimeisistä sijoista kaikista paras, siitä äänestettäköön!

Pari asiaa tästä:

Olen arponut kunkin Euroviisun paikan turnauskaaviossa (muuten se oma suosikkini olisi lähempänä keskustaa oikeesti rip in peace sattuu sieluum).

Vuoden 2009 edustuskappale "Lose Control" on otettu kisaan mukaan. Kyllä, kappale pääsi kilpailun finaaliin, ja viimeisellä sijallaan silti päihittää semifinaaleihin jääneet kappaleet. Päätin kuitenkin ottaa sen mukaan sillä perusteella, että Waldo's Worldin "Lose Control" on viimeinen sija eräässä listassa, ja sitä on siten kohdeltava sen ansaitsemalla kunnioituksella.

(En tiedä miksi kaaviogeneraattori sössii tekstin tuolla tavalla, kirjoitin kaikki nimet ihan oikein)

Ensimmäinen kierros alkaa ensi viikolla. Alkakaahan kuuntelemaan, suosikkianne valitsemaan ja valmistelemaan propaganda-arsenaalejanne.

En tiiä miks mut mua on vuosia kiehtonu Suomen viimeiseksi sijoittuneet euroviisut? Ehkä siks että oon epäironisesti ihastunu useampiin näistä, ehkä se liittyy menneisyydessä vallinneeseen pessimismiin Suomen pärjäämisestä Euroviisuissa, who knows. Toivottavasti tää jaksaa viihdyttää jotakuta muutakin :D

i love following sudden lights on social media, bcos apparently latvians are really into transcribing foreign words and whatnot to fit in with latvian orthography (i guess is the correct term?) so they will take any word or name and make it look latvian. which is all fine and well, like that's how their language works, but it is just really charming whenever i see the band name spelled as "sadenlait"

okay not to be unsafe on the internet by telling everyone where i'm gonna be and when but i just bought myself a ticket to that sudden lights gig in september aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

so anyway my massive bisexuality is one of those things that my family know about but don't acknowledge, ever, like we just don't talk about it. BUT today i had dinner with my mum & brother + his wife, and we got to talking about eurovision. and we were all like "yeah can't remember the interval acts, they must not have been very memorable" until my brother said "oh they had that bit where cornelia jakobs was in the pool with her clothes on".

and i, of course, said, as neutrally as i could: "oh yeah i do remember that one."

and instead of taking it at face value or ignoring it like i expected they would, these assholes all went "ohhh i bet you do wink wink" and i have to say. i have never felt so loved and accepted while also being dunked on by my family.
