Like I turn the corner and my beloved rocky boy Onix is napping in garden. Hello????
oh to be a big rock monster sleeping in a garden
@mewtwowarrior
RIP to the absolutely incredible, gorgeously kind and enthralling Anthony Head. I hope wherever he is, he's playing his pink Nintendo DS.
REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA (2008) dir. Darren Lynn Bousman
Please for the love of God don't make this live action, that alone is weird enough!
Boy named peppermint
The faces of four people seriously considering murdering this prick and wondering if their combined years of law enforcement experience are enough to help them get away with it.
Please handle Mudkip with care 🥹
you just accept it and keep going.
Just two flatmates, freshly groomed and arm in arm, solving mysteries and humming a tune.
This is one of my favorite scenes from this show.
Every once in a while at Eurovision, It feels like the big four (minus Italy) suddenly has a song that looks like a glimmer of hope, only for it to be total fluke:
Germany: from 2015 to 2017 they are rock bottom at the scoreboard, then in 2018 Michael Schulte comes along and lands them a fourth place at the finale. Only for them to fall right back down at the scoreboard the following year with S!sters.
United Kingdom: same pattern, from 2017 to 2021 they are at rock bottom, then out of nowhere comes Sam Ryder in 2022 and gets second place at the finale, only for Mae Mueller to hit the bottom again the next year.
Same again with Spain: 2015 to 2021, rock bottom. Chanel comes in 2023, they get a third place. Following year, Blanca lands in 17th place.
France: They seem to avoid this pattern for the most part, but still, from 2012 to 2015 they are down there between the 22th and 26th place, then Barbara Pravi comes second in 2016 and Alvan and Ahez comes second last in 2017.
I haven't seen any gifs of Look Mum No Computer's amazing stage show yet so I made some of my own
The fact that the tributes would see each other as they are entering the arena is a different kind of depressing and terrifying . Imagine if this was the case as Katniss was entering the 75th games
Imagine the other tributes could see Katniss, but not the peacekeepers beating up Cinna. All they would see is her reaction.
Some of my thoughts about Eurovision this year:
There were some first times and some repeat offenders. First, congratulations to Bulgaria. Back after a three years absence and they win for the very first time, good job Dara.
I gotta admit though her song was not amongst my favorite to win, I think it's a bit mid, and some of her staging I think was weird.
All the praise to my boy Søren from Denmark. He brought the danish language back to the grand finale for the first time since the 90's, and it's the best result Denmark has had since we won back in 2013. He opened the show with a banger and set the standard high for everyone else.
Sadly this was also Sweden's worst result in quite a while, I think Felicia did really good and deserved better.
Also major respect to Jonas from Norway for performing so well despite being sick and injured. Also I know he's straight but I would totally ship him with Søren.
And just like last year, Finland gets robbed. What do they have to do to win already?
But once again, zero points to the UK!? Completely undeserved. Look mum no computer was a highlight at the finale, he gave us a fun, creative performance and got the audience to sing along with him. We haven't had a moment like that since Baby Lasagna.
And... once again, Israel. Why? Why must we continue with this!
Putting politics and war aside for a moment, we know they are rigging the votes, we know they are exploiting the voting system and the contest as a hole, and yet they keep being rewarded for their bad behavior.
This will only encourage them to keep using the contest to promote their cause, and they will keep getting away with it, until the EBU finally grow some balls and bans them. Otherwise they might as well allow Russia back in the competition, that's only fair.
They didn't win Eurovision, but they won our hearts:
I'm having the usual ESC aftermath again of having my favorite song completely stuck in my head (and subbing it for karaoke)
Obviously it's Eins, Zwei, Drei by LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER.
And this time it's even appropriate that I'm harassing everyone with playing the song at full volume out of my car. I drive a Mini, very British and there's also one in the music video!
And today at work I'm craving pepperoni pizza for lunch. Guess what? That's number 3 at the place my work orders at.
Yeah... So just the usual post ESC brainrot when I actually like one of the songs.
Something less controversial I’d love to see an explanation for is the UK’s performance in the last few years.
I can give Olly Alexander a pass, that was possibly zero points worthy. But Remember Monday was catchy, smart, and lovable. LMNC was not only an excellent dance track (and dance tracks did well this year otherwise), it was incredibly well staged and just unique enough to be different and memorable.
Why does the UK get zero points so often? Is there something I’m missing? This is a genuine question btw from someone outside Europe!
