Video games are great, they let you try your craziest fantasies. For example, on the sims, you can have a job and a house

One of the things about writing that feels the silliest is when there’s a detail in the scene that the character doesn’t think is important but you know the reader will know it’s important because otherwise it wouldn’t be there, so you’re just sort of making eye contact with the reader over the character’s head and whispering “don’t tell them”

Could I explain the actual rules of how they’re used? Absolutely not.

Got a job offer from my old restaurant to move back home…….

They want me to help their accountant part time and help hosting/managing in the restaurant part time. 6k raise from what I’m doing now

But I’ve heard many people say the accountant is tough to work with (cranky boomer set in their ways) and they would be training me. And the restaurant managers I’ve worked with always seemed miserable/overwhelmed

I just feel like it’s going to turn into me being overworked. Also just 10 days of PTO (compared to my current 14+5 personal days and 13 federal holidays).

But then on the flip side, my current department has been defunded by the feds. I don’t THINK they’re going to do away with us entirely since we perform an essential function, but there’s no way to really know. They gave us a path to rectify things/get funding back so we just have to do what they say and hope the political circus only goes so far

UGHHHH. And I do want to move home. But I dread being that stressed, I also don’t want to take a step back and get stuck. It’d be hard to pivot from that job without moving AGAIN. I just don’t know if I can do the stress of restaurants without the freedom of waitressing.

Genuinely scared that if I don’t take this now, I’ll never get another chance to move home

But also scared of taking it and getting taken advantage of because restaurant work is thankless and they always take advantage of you

Anyway. Haha happy Wednesday I’m sick to my stomach

If I love a game enough, I tend to write a fic about it lol. Tales of Symphonia, Baldur's Gate 3, Final Fantasy VII (OG and remake), the Silent Hill series...

Honorable mention Zelda: OoT and Twilight Princess. Aaaaand Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. I have beaten all of these multiple times lol
