Irreplaceable || Aurora + Noah

Aurora wouldn’t admit it ever but that did hurt. No matter what she did, her baby was the most important. Her hormones were all over the place, she was holding it in from completely losing it on her ex-boyfriend. “Were you always this much of a dick? I’m warm to people I like and that doesn’t include you, Kennedy.” She bit down on her bottom lip, wanting to do her best to keep calm. It was weird seeing him again after all these years. The last time they spoke, she was a completely different person. Now, her main priority was her baby, nothing else matters. “I needed to get away and Eureka seemed perfect. Pop isn’t doing too bad, working hard but what else do you expect? Mum is doing this thing in Hong Kong.” She raised her eyes at his request, running a hand through her hair, showing the lack of engagement ring that she had always worn. Now, she kept it on a long necklace, never letting anyone see it. She still cared for the father of her child, though knew the chance of them getting back together was a complete and utter zero chance.
"I think you and I both know that I used to be much worse." Noah replied. He knew that he was out of line, but lately everything just seemed grey. In the few months since Annabelle had skipped town, Noah hadn't given himself the chance to care about much. Suddenly, he was face to face with the only other girl he'd ever been real about. It was confusing. Noah ran a hand through his hair. His request for dinner was met with silence. He raised his eyes to meet hers and sighed, "-look, I'm so sorry. I really am... You've caught me at a weird time of year and in a weird place. It's coming up on the anniversary of my brother- you know." His voice trailed off. He wasn't sure if Aurora would even remember what a weird time of year it was for him. The anniversary of his brother's death always hit hard. "- but it's not an excuse. I think we both know that I owe you more than one apology. Let me buy you dinner to at least try and make up for part of that."
