Tromping down the stairs noisily in his Doc Martens, singing along to what was playing in one ear while he headed for the next set of stairs, intending to grab craving food per Coraline’s request. The week had already started out rough and thrown him through a wringer, increasing his moodiness, try as he might to keep it away from Coraline to reduce her stress as much as he could. Plus, they had Mazikeen to think about now, and he knew how intuitive children could be– he didn’t want her sensing his unrest and getting the wrong impression, let alone feeling unwanted. God, he had to get a handle on his fucking mood swings or he was going to be in hot water sooner or later with someone. Slowing his pace when he noticed the… chair sitting in the middle of the hallway, momentarily baffled with the absence of any boxes. Cyrek stopped altogether when he heard a voice, mixed in with the music at first before he removed his earbud, his expression blanking for a solid few seconds. His hearing was pristine, but it was hard to focus when he was honing in on music– it was his nose that tended to be fucked, a result of one too many hits to the face that made it difficult for him to smell. Catching the latter half of what he was saying and understanding the request, partially befuddled why he would think Cyrek would be able to lift the fucking chair until he looked down and remembered he was wearing that ripped, mesh sweater that accentuated the muscle he’d been building. The vocalist smirked, though it felt a little flat and forced. It was hard to be in a good mood lately. “Wow, if you’re gonna ask a guy out to dinner, at least buy me flowers,” he jested, cocking his head to the side, “Sure, the food’ll have to be to-go… I got a pregnant lady waitin’ on me. That cool with you?”
Noah chuckled at the man’s joke. He hadn’t meant the offer as a date per-say just a nice gesture if he agreed to help him move. He figured that food would be a good bribe. The second best thing would have been money. At least in Noah’s eyes. “You’ll have to forgive me. I’m not making a great first impression here. How about next time I’ll bring the flowers? Just have to tell me what kind are your favorites.” He joked back with the other male with a sarcastic flare to it. “That’s by me. There are a few spots to chose from around here close to the apartment.” He noted that his girlfriend or wife was pregnant and he gave him a soft smile. “How far along is she?” He asked curiously as he looked over at the arm chair that was sitting peacefully awaiting to be lifted. “Which side do you want by the way?” His brow furrowed with curiosity.
