laceysinclaireâ:
âYeah, of course,â she rocked back on her heels for a moment, shaking her head.  âOh, itâs really no problem. Iâd like to think that if someone saw me take a tumble, theyâd want to help me out, too.â She gave him a warm smile.  âThatâs okay; thereâs nothing wrong with being a regular sized guy on the field too, you know.â
Noah smiled softly at the woman, âStill, thank you.â he repeated before giving a small shrug at her words, âNo, but you get a lot less ... trampled when youâre not one of the smallest kids on the field.â he pointed out with a small laugh, âI didnât hit my growth spurt for a while, and even then I could run fast but ... as much as I love soccer, I donât have the best build for contact sports.â

Eric was grateful there was a coffee shop next to the gym. His body was aching. He had punished himself again. He had woken up and looked in the mirror and hated what he saw. Typical body dysmophoria was part of his condition. He knew that, but couldnât help but head straight out to the gym and start working on his already impressive physique. Now after a two hour stint of weight training, his body hurt. Which quietened the voice inside. He made his way inside the shop and looked at the menu. The scent of coffee wrapped itself around him like a warm blanket, soothing his aches and pains. He headed to the queue and smiled as he saw someone he knew. â Honestly I have a love hate affair with the gym. Iâm not happy till I am literally at deaths door and my body feels like its on fire.â He chuckled.Â

Noah had lost count of what cup of coffee he was on that day as he sat in the little shop with a couple of new books. Today he had decided to let himself do what he wanted to, and not push himself to get a life as so many seemed to think he should. That meant he had spent a few hours in the gym this morning before heading to the bookstore, and then straight to a quiet corner in his favorite coffee shop. Books and black coffee were quite possibly the two greatest pleasures in life. He heard a familiar voice as he stood in line for another refill and he smiled, âI understand, I was already there a while myself this morning.â he shared, âBut Iâve been settled over there with my books for the last couple of hours.â
saintezrajeanâ:
Sheâd been told time and time again that she had enough books, the struggle to find storage for the ones she did have, filling her shelves and resorting to stuffing the extra beneath the small coffee table he had set up in her living room. Her apartment was cozy, with windows she liked to sit in front of in the morning while sipping her coffee and attempting to wake up from another night of broken sleep. Adjusting to life in a new place had been easy, and despite the dwindling storage space she had to work with, the blonde was practically itching for a new book to read. It was almost an addiction at this point, the feeling of pages between her fingers sprouting goosebumps on her pale skin, and thus she ended up in the bookstore. Of course her promise of just one was broken within ten minutes, and now Ezra had an arm full, stacked so high she could barely see over the tower, her iced mocha caramel latte balanced delicately on top. Thus far sheâd done a good job of avoiding colliding with anyone, but as she rounded the corner to sneak into another section, she was halted abruptly, a surprised squeak emitting from the back of her throat. âHoly shit,â she breathed, saving the haul in her arms just in time before spilling the sweet drink everywhere. âIâm so sorry! Please do not mind me or my clumsy ass; I may be close to the ground, but Iâm about as graceful as a bull in a damn china shop.â The blonde sighed, steadying herself before giving the other a bashful gaze. âYou okay?â

There were days where Noah wondered if half of his reason for choosing to pursue an English doctorate was just so his personal library would maybe be considered slightly less weird. He had covered the walls of one of his extra bedrooms in bookshelves, even adding an additional dividing row down the middle of the room and he was happily working on completely filling them up. If he condensed everything, he would have at least ten or eleven of the bookshelves filled, but he had spread it out in his own personal organizational system. Now, he was taking advantage of the summer off to stock up on new casual reading and he was adding to the stack beside him when someone nearly walked into him and he startled before letting out a breath and then laughing softly, âNo, no, itâs fine.â he insisted. âI promise I did the same thing a few weeks ago, only I did drop everything.â he assured her. âIâm fine, what about you?â

Zelda walked through Resident Records, browsing the vinyls for no reason other than she happened to stumble upon the small shop tucked away from the rest of the town. There was something relaxing about being here, nostalgic maybe. She pursed her lips gently as she picked up a record, immediately recognizing the canon design on the front as ACDC. It reminded her of her dad, jamming out with him in his Chevelle. She glanced around, spotting someone not too far from her. âDo you know if theyâve got like listening stations here?â she asked
Noah had been browsing around the store mostly out of boredom, and he looked up quickly when he realized the woman was speaking to him. âOh, um, I think?â he said carefully, âIâm sorry, I havenât been here much. I just ... my neighbor works here? And I was bored, I figured Iâd just come look around.â he explained. Exploring more of the city was a decent start to his break, right?

kasper was often that one male on his own at the corner of the bar , minding his own business and staying quiet , nursing the same draft beer throughout the evening with only a few sips every hour . it was mostly to get him out of the apartment under the rouse of â socialising â , but there wasnât anything social going on there , not tonight anyway . that was until he noticed an abandoned debit card on the bar top which he quickly swiped , considering for half a second whether he should steal it before seeing clarity and jumping up to grab at the leaving patronâs arm . â stop , stop . is this yours ?? you gotta be more careful . people can clone these things without you even knowing so you wonât report it as stolen or anything , but they still have all your information . keep your cards close to your chest . literally , â kasper pressed the possession against the otherâs collar with a cock of his brow before retreating to return to his seat . heâd only been in that city for a few months and had mostly caused trouble , but heâd use that as his â good deed â for the day . besides , he could use a few more friends .
Bars were supposed to be for socializing, right? At least thatâs what people always said. Personally, Noah didnât feel anything but awkward. He rarely drank, and he didnât like crowds, which mostly meant he sat awkwardly sipping on one drink he didnât really like and hoped to find some opening to talk to someone. In a nutshell, Noah in a bar was a disaster waiting to happen. It didnât help that on this particular socializing attempt for the week he had spotted some of his exâs friends and decided to escape before things became even worse then they already were. Apparently, he had left his brain on the counter along with his debit card and seconds after trying to quietly head for the door he was jumping out of his skin as someone grabbed his arm. After a moment he realized that the other man was only trying to help and he attempted to suppress the instinctual panic. âSorry, sorry, I ah, I wasnât thinking. I just ... was distracted.â he managed to say after a moment, âThank you though, really. I, um, I canât believe I did that.âÂ
xeniaxpershingâ:
âYou donât have to go anywhere, right?â Xenia asked, looking down at her watch. She didnât have to go anywhere since she was really hungry and had once again stayed up all night doing work without no rest. âGood. Then you can hang out with me for a bit and go with me to Lenox so I can do some shopping before I go home.â @atlanta-rpgstartersâ
Noah really had only intended to get coffee, and he shifted slightly uncomfortably when he was asked to stay longer. It wasnât that he didnât want to spend time with her, but âno, I just donât really eat breakfastâ only lasted as an excuse for so long and he couldnât help but feel like he was getting strange looks for sitting there with just a black coffee while she ate. âAlright, I mean I donât know if Iâm the greatest shopping buddy but if you want me to tag along, I donât mind. I donât have any other plans, Iâm kind of boring to be honest.â
hillie-youngâ:
âIâm sure you have but you were younger than. Youâre an old man now,â Hillie teased. âIf you want I can pretend I didnât see it but Iâm still going to worry about you either way.â That was just who she was. She worried about people especially after they got hurt like that. âYou did competitive soccer? Really? I had no idea. You donât look like the type but then again I really donât know what a soccer player looks like. Do you need me to get ice? Iâm sure they have some at one of these food trucks.â
Noah gave a slightly forced smile, knowing he couldnât exactly explain that he had done most of the patching himself up in the last couple of years. âI played in undergrad.â he explained, âMy parents sort of ... threw us at everything to see what stuck. I was good at soccer so ... I played soccer for most of my life, somehow ended up good enough to play in college, but not to go pro.â he explained. And while he did miss soccer sometimes, he had really never wanted to go pro. Soccer was fun, but he had never wanted it to be his whole life. He frowned down at his already swelling ankle for a moment before sighing, âYeah ... ice might not be a bad idea. Iâm sorry for being so much trouble.â
laceysinclaireâ:
âNaturally - thatâs when it always happens,â the blonde girl laughed softy, pointing to an open bench.  âWhat about there? You can take a minute to assess the damage. It just looks really painful.â She didnât want to come off as too pushy.
Noah let himself he led to a bench, glad to take the weight off of his ankle for a moment. âThank you.â he told her, âIâm sure Iâll be alright if I rest it for a little while. Iâve had worse, plenty of times. My parents always kept me in sports and ... well, I was never exactly the biggest guy on the field.â he said self-deprecatingly.Â
ivyharringtonâ:
âYeah, people can be dicks, especially in situations like thisâŚâ, Ivy replied, raising her eyebrows a little before nodding her head in the direction opposite of the stage. âCome on, letâs get you out of here!â, she added, supporting him a little as they made their way out of the crowd. Once they finally reached a place where he could sit down, Ivy turned her head towards him with a grin. âYeah, I know that. I try and not be saving people all the time but sometimes I just canât help myselfâŚ.â, she joked, giving him an encouraging wink.
He let her lead him over towards a small table and laughed softly at her words, even as he blushed. He just wanted to be able to handle himself, but he was self-aware enough to realize he was a disaster. He was failing epicly at the âI can take care of myselfâ thing, but he didnât seem to have much of an option otherwise. âWell, thanks for being around to help me out.â he said a little awkwardly as he looked down at his ankle and pondered the situation, âThis has to be why my motherâs still so obsessive. She knows I canât function long on my own.â
saraxdevinâ:
âI donât think they will really care where I am, honestly. The last time I went home, we kind of didnât agree on a few choices of my life and I may have said a few things I shouldnât have and ran away.âSara admitted. âOkay, Iâll stay with you. Really? Well, maybe you can help me find a job because I will need one, of course.â She didnât really want to tell him that it was also required for her probation, at least not yet. âSee, I am proud of you, Noah. You really are out here living your best life and you are going to be a doctor soon! That is amazing.â
Noah gave a small smile, âYou always were a lot braver then me.â he said gently. Confrontation had always made him nervous, very nervous, but now? Now the idea of it was like had his heart in their hand and was squeezing it, activating a fight-or-flight response faster then almost anything else, and the only option Noah had ever taken was flight. âOf course Iâll help you find a job! Iâll help with whatever you need. I was just gonna ... probably volunteer somewhere and then read the rest of the break away.â he admitted before blushing, âI mean, in name only. Itâs not like Iâll be a medical doctor. I know mom and dad wanted me to get it since it sounds impressive but ... I just really love English.â
tyler-beckerâ:
If there was anything Tyler really loved, then it was festivals like this one. Especially as he didnât have to work and actually got to enjoy the music. And still he found himself walking past the stalls right now, trying to convince Noah to get back to one of the stages. âExactly, local crafts. You can get them over here all the time!â, he countered, a little grin on his lips though as he could definitely understand that standing in a big crowd in the summer heat wasnât exactly something everyone enjoyed. âAnd thereâs some smaller stages over there, pretty sure weâll find a shaded place over thereâŚâ
âOr I could look at them now, and not get ... trampled, or heat stroke, or whatever fate awaits those people over there.â he said, waving a hand towards the most crowded stage. Clearly nobody here had ever heard of personal space. He frowned momentarily, considering the situation before sighing, âIf itâs shaded, and thereâs at least a few inches between us and the rest of the crowd ... maybe I can give it a try.â

laceysinclaireâ:
Lacey winced as she watched Noah walk along, swearing she could feel the pain in her own ankle.  âI donât know why people feel the need to crowd surf anyway⌠I feel like bystanders always wind up worse for the wear,â She frowned, eyes taking in their surroundings.  âAre you sure you wouldnât rather find a first aid tent or something so they can give you some ice for a little while, at least?â
Noah shook his head, forcing a small laugh. âHonestly, I have the worst luck ... I finally decide to get closer to the stage and then this happens.â he said with a sigh, embarrassed that he had hurt himself in public like that. âLet me just find somewhere to sit for a few minutes, if it doesnât get better I guess we can look for a tent? But I donât think itâs that bad.â
ivyharringtonâ:
âSo much for trying to get you do new things, hmâŚ?!â, Ivy teased with a grin once she realised that the other hadnât injured himself too much. The blonde had just tried to push her way through the crowd to get something to drink, when she had spotted the familiar face. âCome on, I can support you. Letâs get you out of this crowd before you trip once again!â, she suggested, knowing all too well how easily this could happen with that many people around them.
âItâs not all that bad except, ah, well, except for the crowds...â he said with a small shrug, âI prefer situations where people have at least a small idea of personal space.â he continued. He did want to try things out but so many people pressing against him made him nervous, and apparently led to injuries. âThanks, ah, I swear Iâm not usually so needy.â he insisted, or at least he tried not to be. He wanted to be able to take care of himself.
hillie-youngâ:
âAre you sure? It really looked like it hurt. Thereâs nothing wrong in admitting youâre hurt and need help. Iâm a mom. Iâm sure Iâve seen worse even if I havenât seen any soccer injuries or at least not yet. Thatâs one sport she hasnât tried taking up,â She joked, following him. âJust take a sit then and rest a bit. Alright? Iâm sure youâll be fine like you said but just do it for me. Give me some peace of mind.â
Noah blushed, âIâm sure, I promise. Iâve patched myself up from way worse then this.â he insisted quickly. Truly, he was still incredibly embarrassed that anybody had noticed the problem. He had been hoping to hobble to a bench somewhere and wait it out until he could more easily walk out to get an uber home. âI wonât argue with the sitting part though. You know, this might be the first time Iâm grateful for not doing competitive soccer anymore. At least Iâm not messing a team up if I end up hobbling around for a while.â
saraxdevinâ:
Sara frowned a bit at what had happened. âYeah, I know you did but are you sure you donât need to get it checked out?â She asked. âYeah, I get that. It was cool of you to come out though, despite it. Can I get you anything? A drink? Pain killers?â
Noah shook his head quickly, âItâll be fine. Just a sprain, thereâs nothing they can do for a sprain that I donât already know to do.â he explain. He had plenty of practice in bandaging himself up. âI donât regret coming with you!â he added quickly, not wanting to upset his sister, âJust ... maybe getting that far into the crowd when they were so excited.â he added, shaking his head. âMaybe, ah, maybe we could both get a drink and just sit for a few minutes.â
