Top Quinceañera Themes For 2019

One of the most important traditions for young Latinas is the Quinceañera , a celebration rich in tradition and culture to mark a girl’s passage into womanhood. It’s a milestone moment, and although there’s no right or wrong way to plan a quince, it’s important to choose a theme that speaks to you. At NOAH’S Event Venue we love to see Quinceañera ‘s step into their heels and celebrate this sensational occasion. Because of this, we’re excited to present our predictions for the top Quinceañera themes of 2019.

Royal Princess  

Probably the most popular theme for quinces, a royal party perfectly accentuates the birthday girl’s traditional crown and princess ball gown. This theme is the perfect excuse to go way over-the-top in grandeur and glamour! Breathtaking chandeliers, linens in royal colors, and polished silverware make for a Quinceañera fit for a queen!  

Winter Wonderland  

Pure white snowflakes, sculpted ice statues, and luxurious glittering lights make for a dignified and fantastical winter wonderland. Diamonds, sparkle, and white glam are all key players for this theme. With a customizable venue like NOAH’S, this theme is obtainable any time of year.

Western Chic

Paris Paradise  

Play up a Parisian theme with Eiffel Tower inspired décor and a pink, black, and gold color palette. Under The Sea  

Adorn your underwater party in seashells, bubbles, and aquatic colors like teal, blue, and purple. These colors are the best way to emphasize an underwater feel, and by hosting your quince at NOAH’S, you can use our luxurious linens in a color that matches the theme.  The Quinceañera can wear an extravagant mermaid gown or traditional ball gown in seaside colors to make sure all eyes are on her.

Alice In Wonderland  

Things get curiouser and curiouser with an Alice in Wonderland theme. Place tiny signs that say, “eat me” and “drink me” around the food and beverage stations, decorate with playing cards, red and white roses, and pocket watches. Accent tables with quirky teacups and kettles. We’re going “mad” for this fun and unconventional theme!  

Masquerade Ball  

Who doesn’t love the intrigue and mystique of a masquerade ball? Invite guests to wear elaborate masks, accent the tables with theatrical feathers, and incorporate breathtaking chandeliers and elegant linens. NOAH’S offers traditional, spiral, and 4-tier chandeliers to help up the glitz and drama.

Great Gatsby  

Feathers, pearls, gold, and lights make for the 1920’s glamour party of your dreams! The birthday girl and her quince court can wear breathtaking feather headbands to match their fashionable gowns.  

Quirky Candyland  

Candy bouquets, bright colors, and cotton candy clouds are a fun way to decorate for your candy land quince. The cake is a focal point for this theme, so show off your spectacular sugary confection with the NOAH’S suspended cake table.

Mariachi  

Vibrant colors and traditional Mexican cuisine and décor make for a celebration of Mexican culture and the birthday girl! Of course, the most important element of this theme would be the live Mariachi band. Not all venues allow you to bring in your own entertainment. 7 Tender Ways to Include Your Children in Your Wedding

“Tying the knot” isn’t just a phrase. When you get married, it’s as if you’re gathering two families and tying them together, crafting an intricate bow with love, respect, and mutual trust in every strand. When you’re a parent, the knot is a little more delicate and complicated; while you gain a new partner, your children gain a new stepparent.

This melding of families is beautiful and rewarding, and it’s important to include your children in this big moment. Here at NOAH’S, we love to see all the tender ways couples incorporate their children into their special day. If getting your kids involved in your wedding seems daunting, don’t worry. We’ve cultivated 7 of our favorite ways to help your children become an integral part of your wedding day.

1. Invite Them To Help Plan Wedding Details.

Ask your child to help pick out the ring, choose a theme, or find a dress. Bring them to a cake tasting, caterer tasting, not wine-tasting because of laws…but everything else! When you book a tour at NOAH’S, make sure to bring your children. The more you include your child in the preparation and details of the wedding day, the more they’ll feel invested and valuable during the event.

2. Assign A Task Or Role To Your Child.

The role of a child in a wedding doesn’t have to be limited to flower girl or ring bearer. Maid-of-honor, man-of-honor, decorator, coordinator, and made-up roles all work to make your child feel vital to the success of your wedding. Handing your child a disposable camera and assigning them the task of “wedding photographer” is a great way to capture sweet moments while helping them feel included.

3. Give Them A Morning-Of Gift.

On the morning of the big day, prepare a special gift for your child and a private moment to present it to them. This is the time to tell them how much they mean to you and express your enthusiasm for your growing family and their role in it.

4. Let Them Create A Signature Drink.

NOAH’S pioneered the open-vendor policy which allows you to bring a caterer or your own food to an event. Let your child pick a favorite milkshake from a local ice cream shop or soda flavor that you can buy in box-loads to offer alongside the couple’s signature drink selections.

4. Break Tradition; Ask Your Child To Walk You Down The Aisle.

Your child walking with you down the aisle is the perfect symbolic gesture to show that two family units are merging into one. You’re not the only one gaining a new family member, your children are, too! Walk together toward your newest family addition. If you have more than one child or children from both sides, include all of them during this part of the wedding ceremony. Your son on one side of you, your daughter on the other, walking toward their new stepparent and step-siblings could be the most touching moment of the day.

5. Write Them A Set Of Vows.

When you become a part of a family, it isn’t just the parents that promise their commitment to one another. Taking the time to write and read a set of vows to your new stepchild helps them feel special and loved. It’s always an unforgettable and sweet moment when a NOAH’S couple invites their children to stand with them in front of the draping fabric in the Main Hall or under the Outdoor Patio arch and promises to them that they will strive to build a complete and happy familial unit. A sweet and endearing moment like this is sure to make your child or children feel connected to you, your partner, and the event.

6. Include Them In The Unity Ceremony.

Whether you’re having a traditional unity candle or sand ceremony or a nontraditional alternative, include your children! This ceremony symbolizes your life-long commitment to each other and the joining of two lives, two families. Let your children help light the candle or include multiple colors of sand, one for each family member. Maybe do something completely new, like invite each family member to leave a handprint on a canvas that can be displayed in your home.

7. Present A Toast To Your Kids.

Guests and relatives will be toasting to you all night long, but this is a big milestone for your children as well. Take the time to present a toast to your children. You can even emphasize this special toast by utilizing NOAH’S Main Hall stage that rises out of the floor, turning all eyes on your child during their special moment in the spotlight.

How to Throw a Galentine’s Day Party

While February usually brings to mind Valentine’s Day and images of spoiling your partner with chocolates and roses on the 14th, it’s the day before that has quickly become one of the most fun holidays of the year. February 13th is Galentine’s Day. This is a holiday dedicated to celebrating female friendships, and it is everything.

Haven’t heard of it? Don’t worry, the story of its creation is almost as wonderful as the day itself. Galentine’s Day was born in NBC’s Parks and Recreation. “Galentine’s Day,” directed by Ken Kwapis, premiered in 2010, and female friendships haven’t been the same since. Parks and Rec was created by Greg Daniels and Michael Schur and stars Amy Poehler as the ever determined and unflappable Leslie Knope as she battles the problems of local government. In this particular episode, written by Michael Schur and story edited by Katie Dippold and Harris Wittels, Leslie gathers all of the women in her life to celebrate them. When asked to describe what Galentine’s Day is, she says: “Oh it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.”

Basically, Galentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to get together and celebrate all the most important women in your life. Yeah, we knew you would be on board. Don’t know where to start? Don’t worry; we’ve got some tips to help you throw the perfect Galentine’s Day party.

Bring On The Food

What’s a party without something delicious? Certainly not one Leslie Knope would approve of. If you decide to host your party at a NOAH’S Event Venue, you can have your favorite restaurant cater the event or make it a potluck. We want your party to be unique to you, so we don’t restrict your options. You choose whatever food you like and bring it in with our open vendor policy. The original Parks and Rec Galentine’s Day reflected Leslie’s love of breakfast, and you can carry on that theme. Fill up with bacon, eggs, yogurt, pancakes, fresh fruit, smoothies, or, as per Leslie’s own advice, frittatas. If you feel like changing it up, why not go for a dessert spread? You can’t go wrong with sweets. Even better, why not all of the above?

Do Something Fun

Fill your Galentine’s Day party with whatever it is that you and your friends like to do. If that means face masks and toenail painting with some girl-power anthems playing in the background, do it. If that means intense elimination style video game tournaments, pass the controllers. Gather The Girls

This celebration is a chance to pamper and party with the important women in your life. That may mean a small, relaxing makeover night in a room like NOAH’S Small Party Room, or a large gathering that would only fit in the Main Hall, complete with a lip sync competition. The point is that you need to be sure you have the space to get all of your girls together, and preferably somewhere where you can spoil yourself a little as well. We recommend skipping the crowds and noise of a restaurant and going for something a little more intimate, while also avoiding shoving everyone into your living room and leaving you to clean up the mess. If you split the cost of a NOAH’S room rental amongst the party-attendees, it will probably be less than a hotel, and we want to spoil you more. Let us handle the set up, take down, and clean up for you so that you can relax with your gal-pals.

At NOAH’S, we’re known for being a wedding and big event venue, but we love seeing people use our rooms for smaller celebrations too! If you have a wedding coming up, Galentine’s Day is the perfect chance to thank your bridesmaids in advance. Getting them all together now for something fun like this can also help avoid some awkwardness on the big day.

Create Gift Bags

In 2014, Parks and Recreation returned to the holiday with another episode titled “Galentine’s Day,” this one directed by Beth McCarthy-Miller and written by Emma Fletcher and Rachna Fruchborn (yeah, girl power going on behind the scenes!). This time, Leslie spoils the attendees of her soiree with personalized gift bags. You can do the same! These can be as simple or as extra as you want to make them. Pick up some treats and bath-bombs to allow your guests to treat themselves later or select a specific present for each guest.

Get Cheesy

Yes, cheese is a welcome addition to any party (cheese platters, fondue, whatever, we’re not picky), but we’re not just talking about food here. If Leslie Knope can write a 5000 word essay about why she loves her girls on this special day, you can write out a few quick letters, or even tell them in person at the party. Get cheesy! Galentine’s Day is the perfect excuse.
