Some form of panic was beginning to set in as Eloise nodded her head, listening to what Noah said. Her stomach twisted up in knots, watching her walk away as a feeling of doom tickled up her leg, completely pouncing on her and enveloping her as Noah came back, horrifying boxes in hand. The brunette took them cautiously before swallowing the lump in her throat and quickly attacking Noah in an embrace. “Thank you.” she choked out before pulling away, feeling a little too exposed in front of the woman who probably hated her the most. “No. I’m alright.” she dropped her bag to the floor before shuffling down the hallway, hanging her head.
She shut the door as softly as she could, though her arms wanted to slam if and watch it crack. Eloise was really trying to suppress those c****y tendencies, but the foreign feeling of stress and anxiety was really fuckin with her work man. Her hands fumbled as she destroyed the box, starting with pulling the lid open, ending with ripping it in half to get the contents. They clambered in the sink, the noise mocking her as she reached out for the stupid piece of plastic the held her fortune.
The first one bit the dust–or the bowl, landing right in the water out of her shaky hands. “Shit–Ah… Da… M…” the woman groaned and fished it out of the toilet, chucking it into the garbage before going for round two n 3 for insurance ;_) and succeeding. She hoped. “Noah?” she chirped, sticking her head out of the door and calling for the angel, “Noah, how do I know when it’s finished…?“
Noah retracted her hand back to her side as Eloise took the contents from it, moving to awkwardly scratch at her arm though it didn’t make it far before Eloise threw her arms around her. Noah sort of wanted the floor to swallow her whole but she tucked that thought away for a later time and awkwardly patted her back with a whispered “Uh, yeah no problem.” Nodding as she said she was alright she watched as she walked down her hall and into her bathroom. Noah was starting to get a headache from the stress that wasn’t even hers to harbor. Though she did have things to worry about. Like Louis walking through the front door with their kids and seeing Eloise who was the last person he’d want in their home let alone around their kids and she couldn’t blame him.
Sinking into the kitchen chair opposite of the one Eloise had abandoned, Noah buried her face in her hands to surpress a groan. She was thankful for the extra time alone and almost hoped she’d take a while doing her thing. But those hopes were quickly flushed as Eloise called her name from the bathroom. Sighing, she stood and stepped towards her. “It’s gotta sit for a couple minutes and then the lines’ll show up... the box’ll tell you what those mean. Just uh leave it in there and come back in the kitchen. I’ll make tea or something while we wait.”
