Even though a lot of people have been skeptical about Obama's decisions lately (just like any president, in my opinion), I'm still amazed at his progress with the LGBT community.

"The Green Street United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem, N.C., is taking a stand for marriage equality by refusing to conduct marriages for heterosexual couples until United Methodist polices are changed to allow pastors to officiate at marriages for same-sex couples as well."

This is Lynne Osterman, formerly a Republican member of the House of Representatives. Years ago, she voted in favor of DOMA. Yesterday, she tearfully testified before Minnesota lawmakers about why she regrets her vote every day. “A ‘no’ vote is not fair, it’s not respectful, and it’s not equal,” she says. “I blew my vote, and I’m imploring you, please get this right.” If you only watch one video today, it should be this one.

They are the next generation. So, if you're going to pass away and not live to see the progress of equality of human rights for those with a different sexual orientation than you...the least you can do is educate your children of who queer people are and not portray us as bad. We are not the "other," we are humans too.
