okay, what i'm about to say might sound a little confusing, but hear me out:
apples are a fruit.
when someone mentions an apple, people usually think of the red apple because most apples are red.
does that mean all apples are red? no. there are also green apples, yellow apples, apples that are half green-half yellow, tri-colored apples, etc.
the non-red apples are still apples, and they're still fruits. they may not all tastes the same, but regardless, they are in fact the same.
people change the names of some apples to describe their colors. granny smith, red delicious, golden delicious, etc. that way, everyone knows exactly which kind of apple is being talked about because, again, not all apples are red.
let's say that in some alternative universe, apples are conscious.
let's also say that for whatever reason, red apples don't like to be called "red apples" by apples that aren't red, because they believe it takes away from them still being apples.
it doesn't.
the reason why the red apples believe that being called "red apples" is taking away from them still being apples is because they think that they're the "default" or that they're "normal" and don't require a clarifying prefix. there is no default. why is that? because an apple doesn't have settings. it's a fucking fruit.
apples also may change color overtime (if they want to). it can go from being golden to crisp green, or go from being red to having a yellow bottom half.
the crisp green apple is no longer a golden apple, because it's not golden anymore. so, call it a green apple, because you look stupid still calling it a yellow/golden apple if there are literally no signs of it being the previous color anymore.
the same goes for the red apple with a yellow bottom half. you could call it a red apple, but that would imply that the only color present is red. you can call it a half red-half yellow apple, a dual-colored apple, a red-yellow apple, etc. but make sure that you draw attention to the fact that it is BOTH red and yellow. if you ask someone to bring you only pure green apples, you'd be confused as to why they brought you apples that were half red-half green.
a lot of people like their apples to be red. other people prefer green or yellow apples, and that's okay. they shouldn't be ridiculed or attacked or shunned for not liking red apples, because regardless of what color apple they're eating, it doesn't effect anyone else.
some people like multiple kinds of apples. other people may be allergic to apples or don't like apples at all, and that's okay, too. some people have tried apples before and don't like them, or have tried many kinds of apples and are only interested in one or a few kinds.
don't force people to eat apples, and don't force people to eat other kinds of apples if they don't want them.
above all, don't be a shitass and eat premature apples. that's disgusting.
