AVENGERS 4 UPDATE! v4 (5/17/18)

Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore had a lot to say about Phase 4 in the MCU. Moore told Screen Rant “I think it’s (phase 4) an opportunity for us to bid a fond farewell to characters that we’ve come to know for a while, but to also then introduce characters who are going to feel completely new and hopefully surprising to both our core fans and fans of our movies who aren’t as well-versed in publishing.” Marvel Studios Kevin Feige also stated the studio is working on bringing Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) to the MCU (making her Marvel’s first Muslim hero in the MCU) and that the Eternals film is in early development. Disney CEO Bob Igor added that the overall goal of Avengers 4 is to “have a significant conclusion” to the plot that begun in the 2008 film Iron Man. New set photos show Tony using the B.A.R.F. technology (Binary Augmented Retro Framing) which we got a glimpse of at the beginning of Civil War when Tony used his memory in the BARF to recount the last time he talked to his mother and father before they were killed, although the memory we saw was what how Tony wanted that encounter to go, stating in reality he never actually got to say goodbye. In other news, James Gunn has stated the 3rd guardians movie will stick to the trend and be aptly titled “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”

Looks like we might be starting with a time jump after all. Gwyneth Paltrow told official Avengers: Infinity War magazine “She obviously starts as his dutiful assistant, and then the relationship evolves, and now this decade later they’re married, and they have a child,” said Paltrow. “Their relationship has evolved in all of the ways that great romances evolve.” It’s possible she misspoke or it was taken out of context. It’s been expected for a while that Avengers 4 might start with a considerable time jump (around 5 years) from Infinity War. This means Shuri will certainly be the next black panther. Considering the actress is in her mid-20s playing a 16 year old, it will be an easy transition. Still no word or progress on the Stark created infinity gauntlet for Professor Hulk theory I’m floating around.

AVENGERS 4 UPDATE! v3 (5/16/18)

Set photos have leaked showing two Tony Stark’s, one wearing his same apparel from the first Avengers movie and in the same scene he is shown hearing SHIELD regalia. It happens to be the same uniform of the SHIELD agents guarding Loki when he is “apprehended”. This supports the time travel/quantum realm storyline that will start in Ant-man and the wasp. It should also be noted that cap, tony, and ant man were all seen wearing a similar device that seems to allow the time travel. The thor and Loki in the scene have no devices, leading us to believe they are the original Thor and Loki from the original timeline.

This holds some weight to my stark infinity gauntlet arc as a strong possibility with hulk using it on Thanos. Due to Ragnarok (the actual event, not the movie), Thor will surely be killed by Thanos (this is when Cap will pick up Mjolnir) to complete the cycle of Ragnarok and trigger the rebirth of the Gods. Loki, Odin, Thor, and Hera are Gods. They are immortal, and will never “die” like we do. It seems Loki set this up from the beginning. He wanted to die in IW and force Ragnarok. He knew Thor and his friends could get the gauntlet, most likely at Thor’s expense, because he is stronger than Hulk right now. Once they (the asgardian gods) are all resurrected/reborn, I believe Loki will use the gauntlet as well, but to bring back Asgard. One thing that troubles me about my speculation is that in order to receive the soul stone, I’m afraid Banner (or maybe Professor Hulk, a Banner/Hulk hybrid?) will have to kill Black Widow to get it. The Russo bros announcing Betsy Ross death seemed to reaffirm my ideas, as this would clearly bring Banner and Natasha closer. If they’d decide to have a 5 year jump from Infinity War to Avengers 4, that’s a long enough time to fall completely in love with someone else after your first love dies.
