Spoilers for Digimon Beatbreak Episode 21...

Ugh, we finally get the closest thing to a female gogglehead and she's not the main character! This should've been an ultimate/perfect evolution episode T_T I love the relationship between Reina and Granit. I think it's my favourite between the humans, although Makoto and Hotaruko are a close second. I can't wait for Reina to forcibly adopt Granit.

Chapter 13

Just as he thought, it’s a gorgeous Koto, made of rich, varnished wood, and decorated at the end with a stunning depiction of mountain pines under the moonlight. Their clan’s fan, of course, is painted carefully in a corner. Sasuke touches the lacquer. Hesitates.

“I don’t know how to play,” he reminds Fugaku.

“I can show you,” Fugaku says, and kneels on the cushion. “Hopefully it won't need much tuning.”

Heart in his throat, Sasuke opens his mouth to remind his father that he’s dead and can’t play anymore.

Fugaku plucks a string.

The single note echoes in the room.

Seems I've been so caught up in life stuff that I didn't even realise the first DLC episode of Time Stranger comes out tomorrow. Something to look forward to at least.

I still can't get over how amazing the different areas are in Time Stranger.

I really love all of them, but Abyss Area is probably my favourite.

Near the endgame of Time Stranger (I think?) so keeping things as vague as possible to avoid plot spoilers, but there are spoilers for gameplay that those wanting to stay completely in the dark should probably avoid...

Allies: This is the final battle. Are you ready?

Me: I guess. The game's been amazing, but I really would've liked a few more side quests to encourage me to explore more. I guess I can do that on the next play-through though.

Allies: btw here are a bunch of side-quests you can have some fun with that'll make you question if you could've activated some of these a lot sooner, plus a bunch that are clearly meant for this stage of the game. Ready for that final battle now?

Me (secretly very happy, but also slightly annoyed I was angsting about getting to the end of the game already): Umm... let me get back to you.

48 hours into Time Stranger...

No images this time as I kinda forgot to take any.

The mystery of the 'kids' at the start is somewhat explained and potentially Mirei's younger form as well. I admit I hadn't thought the In Between Theater would play so prominently as I thought it would be similar to Mirei's dimension in Cyber Sleuth.

I'm really enjoying the game still. I think the only thing I would want at this stage are more side quests. The main story is interesting, but with the bit of repetition from saving the Olympus XII, I wouldn't mind something more to break up the plot.

That being said, I'm loving the side quests that have been available. I had a complete blank when asked to wear something "Cyber" (loved the Cyber Sleuth cameo though :D).

On to try and save Mercurymon...

Around 24 hours in... (slight spoilers)

I think I saw some comments about Mirei's appearance in the early days and how different it was (both positive and negative), but it seemed pretty clear in the demo she was just younger. And now look who's shown up

I think the time travel aspect is going to become more of a thing as the plot continues as things almost seem to be a little too smooth so far. We'll see though.

Also, I can't get over how pretty this game is!

Finally managed to break into Ultimate/Perfect levels as well. I will aim to complete all the side quests that pop up!

So my first thoughts on Digimon Story Time Stranger are that it is really a step up from previous Digimon games...

It seems like a weird thing to start with, but the two things that got me were what feels like more mature strategising to raising digimon and the fact that the human and digital world seem to both feature strongly. I can't think of another digimon game that's done that?

I'm still figuring out the best strategy for raising my digimon, but I really love that moves learned by others can be swapped in so one doesn't need to evolve/devolve a bunch of times just for the "ideal" move set, and moves can be changed to maximise chances in upcoming battles. I've got a bit of a strategy with the agent skills and personalities, but I'm definitely not using those to their biggest potential.

The use of both worlds so far has kept things feeling fresh and there are little elements that just make it feel like a lot of care was put into the game. The Digital World in particular feels so full of life!

I saw comments about the price, but so far I'm very happy I forked out for the delux preorder.

For anyone else playing, how're you finding it (although please no plot spoilers)?

Played some of Steam's Digimon Story Time Stranger demo today and it's really fun so far! There are definite similarities to Cyber Sleuth, but the world already feels more open. Plus, it's got an English dub! It's also a bit weird for me because I haven't played a PC game in forever, so I'm getting used to the keyboard rather than a controller. I'm struggling with that side of things much less than I feared (at least it doesn't have me looking up PS5 listings).
