Last week, I learned that the English language has more euphemisms for death than any other language. I learned that the ancient Greeks had no word for the colour blue and that the Hawain alphabet has only twelve letters. I spent last week hollowing out a little place in my heart and filling it with worry. What does that say about us? Do we really go out of our way to avoid death like that? How did the Greeks describe the sea? Are twelve letters really enough? Does every language have a word for love? Every language should have a word for love. And compassion. And gentleness. And figs and snow and that soft sensitive part on the inside of one’s arm. We should have words for everything so that we don’t feel alone. We need very very very specific words for all of the different kinds of sad and even more specific words for the kinds of happy. What if we were able to talk about everything? I want to tell you how I feel and I want to be precise. Sometimes ‘good’ just isn’t enough and few understand what I mean when I say that I feel ’like lightning.’
I finished another piece!!!
Piano & violin. A little bit of tearing hearts. A little bit of hope. A little big confession of the violin.
Keanu Reeves as Mercutio in an 80′s production of Romeo & Juliet in Toronto.
someone, reading my writing: wow great story!
me, sticking my hands in the plotholes: thanks it has pockets :)
The picture of Dorian Gray contains only 2 brain cells which is from Basil and that's it.
a chapterbook: *came with a stitched in ribbon bookmark, had a cloth spine, had those rough edged finished pages, or came with a map*
8 year old me: i am a 500 year old librarian and this is the most valuable book in my collection. i rescued it myself from a castle as it burned to the ground. *gingerly runs my little grubby hands down its spine and gazes wistfully out of the school bus window* i am the keeper of all civilization’s knowledge
you know what my perfect gift would be? an annotated copy of your favourite book. i don’t just mean a couple of tabs, i mean annotated. i mean highlighted to the ends of the earth, pages black with scribbled annotations, entire pages underlined and captioned ‘THIS’. i want to see tear stains on the pages, corners bent from when you threw it across the room, spine broken because you were too absorbed in the story to care. i want paragraphs of you yelling at characters, i want your witty remarks and sarcastic comments, i want your little doodles in the margins. because then you’re not just giving me a book. you’re giving me a little piece of yourself, and i think that’s the best gift you could give.
fighting against racism is very dark academia, i highly recommend it
bite the vampire first to establish dominance
Amour from Armide, Opera Atelier .
I finally finished the song.
Piano & violin, with sprinkles of magical dust dancing between the park lanterns in the dead of night.
Hi, can I ask for some book recommendations? I fell in love with your art, and since I've seen a lot of pynch, andreil and also found Francis Abernathy, I trust your opinion unconditionally (and also silently fangirling inside).
💖Hi!!! I love recommending books so I'm really happy to answer this!
Unfortunately my reading pattern and genre are really inconsistent but I'll try my best to recommend things you might like based on what I post!
Let's start with the easiest finds!
-Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children by Ransom Riggs-This books shaped me as a person and they are really good and particular (the first book is the best but you'll grow soft for the characters I swear)
-The Goldfinch (or the little friend but the vibe is kinda weird) by Donna Tartt (you could watch the movie because it's good but it's Donna Tartt's work we're talking about so do you really want to??)
-Demian by Herman Hesse--probably my favourite writer ever. His books are amazing and not only they are good plot and writing style wise, but reading them its a whole new experience I swear everyone should try (he's one of those writers you love or you hate though)
-All the crooked Saints by Maggie Stiefvater-the aesthetic is amazing and you know how good she is so I don't have to say much more
-Vicious by V. E. Schwab (Does this come from a series? Are there more books? I don't know but I loved this one so I should probably check but I always forget, I swear he was a lonesome guy when I bought this one)
And in addition I'll leave you some weird Italian things I don't know if you'll ever find in English but still:
-Pleasure by Gabriele D'Annunzio--really slow and really long but it's also super good (Bitch is really famous so you should be able to find him) don't get fooled by the English cover I guess, it looks like a bad herotic comedy while it's kind of the Italian's Oscar Wild I don't know why they did him dirty like that
-The nonexistent knight and The baron in the trees by Italo Calvino - I don't know about the availability but he's one of my favourite writers ever so I guess it's worth the time to mention yeyyy
ANYWAY thank you sososooso much for the ask!!!I really hope you'll find at least something to enjoy!💪⭐
And if you want you can come scream at me about Francis Abernathy whenever you please, he's my baby and I feel like he never gets the appreciation he deserves. I hope you gave an amazing day!! 💖💖
I just woke up and the first thing I saw was this and you just made my day 💗💗 Can I come screaming to you after I finish those?
Asparagus is in season.
‘But how,” said Charles, who was close to tears, “how can you possibly justify cold-blooded murder?’
I love that when Macbeth and Banquo met the witches, Banquo was like Dude did this happen or are we on shrooms

The Ambassadors (detail of the Celestial Globe)
