The Black Panther Party is directly responsible for schools having free and reduced breakfasts and lunches

This is true and I recommend reading this article. The FBI sabotaged the Black Panther’s Free Breakfast program at every turn. Hoover saw the program, which fed tens of thousands of schoolchildren, “many of whom had never eaten breakfast before the Panthers started their program,” as a huge threat, and authorized his agents to:

spread lies claiming the food was infected with STDs

assault the people running the program, in front of terrified children eating their breakfast

break into churches and destroy the donated food, even urinating on it in at least one instance.

Ultimately the FBI succeeded in destroying the program, but not before great public pressure was put on political leaders to fund similar breakfast programs. The Black Panther Party is absolutely the reason that 15 million school children are able to eat breakfast today–with conservatives fighting constantly to repeal these programs, which children need not only to survive, but also to learn and function at school.
