A young woman lays on her mother's bed. It just so happens that today, the 28th of October, 20XX, isn’t really a particularly notable day for her at all. It’s just the start of the long weekend for the Festival. She has nothing to do today, so she just lays in her mother's bed, absentmindedly tossing and catching a tennis ball. Alone. With her thoughts. Which is how she intends to remain for the rest of the weekend, more or less. Even though going outside would probably be best for her, she feels she has nothing to do outside, or, at least, doesn’t really belong out there. She feels trapped. Stuck, if you will, in a sense that is potentially titular.

Your name is SUSIE SAURIA. You are FIFTEEN years old. You have several INTERESTS, including GIANT MONSTER MOVIES, eating CHALK AND SIMILAR NON-FOODS, and ACTING TOUGH AND COOL. One could argue that those last two are A RESULT OF EXTREME HUNGER and a DEFENSE MECHANISM, respectively, and can hardly be considered INTERESTS. YOU would reply by saying that person should STOP TALKING if they want to KEEP their FACE.

anyways oh my goodness gracious I could do this homestuck redraw shite until I DROP. DEAD. i havent had anyyy time recently to actualllyy draw but this has been my freaking zen mandalas this is my meditation it's so fun seriously soo fun and also probably actually a good excerise considering it's lineless and very dynamic.

it's anyone's mf guess which traits of Jack's I keep in the redraw. asriels stupid collar giving me grief?? ur wearing tattered jester garb now. do I think the sword is necessary? sometimes.. sometimes... the jester hat felt extremely appropriate to keep and I'm very glad i did because he could actually be improved with a jester hat I believe. he kept the scar that one time because he was supposed to be beat anyways. also I only drew frisk as an heir of breath bc I was replacing john with them but someone in my comments actually suggested that as a possible classpect so maybe I was secretly onto something anyway point is there is no rhyme or reason this is literally me playing with my toys and giggling

It’s a beautiful day outside. Birds are singing, flowers are blooming…you stare out into the street illuminated by the rays of the morning sun. It will fill with people, soon. A familiar feeling wells up within you. The dull, aching sensation is a stark contrast to the ephemeral light that begins to blanket itself over Hometown, perhaps exactly because of the pleasantness of the day outside; it is hopelessness. It is the ninth weekend of the school year, and like all eight preceding it, you have resigned yourself to a fate of lazing hungrily about your apartment, waiting for your mother to get home, and when she arrives, waiting for the next day for her to leave again. You used to be more active, but it’s not like there’s anything for you in this town. It’s this or explore the southern ruins, and that place gives you the creeps.

Unlike all other weekends this year, though, it’s four days long. And you ran out of food in your SYLLADEX yesterday night, so you’ll have to get some, soon, unless you intend to resort to chewing and swallowing the tennis ball currently in your mouth.

You sigh. You have a feeling it’s going to be a long weekend.
