And shake the yoke of inauspicious stars from this world-wearied blog
I'll leave the blog up and maybe come back to it in a few months, but I'm having somebody else change the password and hold onto it so that it's not even there in my mind.Â
Bye guys!
I'm deleting my tumblr.
I haven't been into it recently and it's been really uninspiring. Which I suppose would mean I should just follow new people, but I don't really feel like going through that.
I don't know, if I actually used it for something productive, like writing or something, then maybe it would be worth it.Â
At this point it really just wastes my time.  It's not particularly edifying. I'm about to start the hardest three months of my life.  After Winter Break ends on Sunday, I'm going back to school (obviously) and playing a lead role in the spring musical.  Which means going to rehearsal every day and not getting home until 10PM pretty frequently.  And while I'm by no means taking the most rigorous classes at school, I've still got a substantial amount of work.  Between independent study Latin and two AP classes, I'm definitely busy.Â
Ultimately though, none of that is a reason to delete tumblr. I have enough of a work ethic that it won't distract me from doing actual work, but it too easily becomes my default mindless activity after finishing homework.
I think I can come up with something more meaningful to do in my free time. Like read. Â I don't read nearly as much as I'd like to.
So I may leave this post up for a few days or I may just go ahead and delete it tonight. Â But I'll probably reappear in the form of like, a writing blog or something. Â Eventually. That'd be a cool summer activity.Â

I feel sort of bad for John BoehnerÂ
Kind of like how I feel bad for Javert at the end of Les Mis, you know?Â
If youâre a little peeved that Congress didnât get around to dealing with disaster relief for victims of Hurricane Sandy, you might also want to take a moment to consider this other little thing that Congress didnât get done:
Congress had a lengthy to-do list as the end of the year approached, with a series of measures that needed action before 2013 began. Some of the items passed (a fiscal agreement, a temporary farm bill), while others didnât (relief funding for victims of Hurricane Sandy).
And then thereâs the Violence Against Women Act, which was supposed to be one of the yearâs easy ones. It wasnât.
Back in April, the Senate approved VAWA reauthorization fairly easily, with a 68 to 31 vote. The bill was co-written by a liberal Democrat (Vermontâs Pat Leahy) and a conservative Republican (Idahoâs Mike Crapo), and seemed on track to be reauthorized without much of a fuss, just as it was in 2000 and 2005.
But House Republicans insisted the bill is too supportive of immigrants, the LGBT community, and Native Americans â and theyâd rather let the law expire than approve a slightly expanded proposal. Vice President Biden, who helped write the original law, tried to persuade House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) to keep the law alive, but the efforts didnât go anywhere.
And so, for the first time since 1994, the Violence Against Women Act is no more.
Go fâ yourself.

hey you
you reading thisÂ
come over and rub my head as i drift off into a vicodin-induced sleep while clutching my pillow in complete existential loneliness
If I were a younger man, I would write a history of human stupidity; and I would climb to the top of Mount McCabe and lie down on my back with my history for a pillow; and I would take from the ground some of the blue-white poison that makes statues of men: and I would make a statue of myself, lying on my back, grinning horribly, and thumbing my nose at You Know Who.
