I wonder if anyone ever took Aemma Arryn flying.
Baelon, Rhaenys, Daemon, Jaehaerys and Alysanne were all alive and had dragons when she was brought to the keep as an 11 year old bride.
Someone must have at some point, right?
(I also have to wonder if she and her Aunt Gael were close for a time, since Gael didn't die until Rhaenyra was 2 )
I saw a joke about how Targaryens keep naming boys Aegon hoping they'll be king but have any Aegon's who were actually a king been meant to be one?
Aegon I was a conqueror.
Aegon II was technically 6th in line.
Aegon III was the 4th son.
Aegon IV was the first son of the kings younger brother and not intended to be heir.
Aegon V was the 4th son of a 4th son.
I mean intended to be king but haven't been we do have Aegon the uncrowned, Jaehaerys I preemie son, and Rhaegar's son but for the most part... even Baelon's Aegon was his 3rd child.
Okay but who else saw baby Stormcloud and immediately thought of baby Laenor playing in tide pools on the beach with his father while tiny baby Seasmoke hunted minnows in the same tide pools?

So with the Targaryen's and incest you can yell into a room for your brother, cousin and husband and only one person look up. I wonder how they determine which is the more important relationship to go by at times? Did Jocelyn start saying good-mother instead of sister to Alysanne after she married her nephew? Did Aemon ever sarcastically call her 'aunt' when she was irritating him?
Truthfully did Alyssa and Alysanne always stay with 'husband' or was there an irritated 'brother' thrown out on occasion?
Viserys and Daemon are brothers and cousins and both are cousin to Aemma, did she stay calling Daemon cousin or good brother?
I need to know things I can't quite recall ever being fully addressed in the books and I need it for no reason other than my own amusement.
So given Rhaenys and Corlys's ages, most likely the first thing that comes to mind when they hear "Strong bastards" is Ser Lucamore Strong of the Kings Guard and three wives and his sixteen bastard children.
Especially given that one wife was sent with her children to be kept at Driftmark with Lord Daemon Velaryon. Given they fostered with Daemon Velaryon, Corlys's grandfather, he probably fostered along side them as the heir and future Lord.
Driftmark is full of bastard Strongs, but Laenor's babies are not the first to come to anyone's mind.

Rhaenys and Corlys are that kind of couple that don't show much PDA at all, and yet whenever they're walked in on in a room alone together - whether they're touching or not - the new person always feels as if they've just interrupted something.
So we've talked about first flights but how old do you think they were before Rhaenys allowed Corlys to dip her babies in the cold sea to introduce them to it? Did they love it like him, or shriek because what is this coldness this is not my usual bath?
Oh I love watching videos of babies being dipped in the sea for the first time. 🤣 The way they often burst into tears because NEW TEMPERATURE AHHHH or they don't like the feeling of sand. Much big emotions. It's endlessly entertaining.
I actually have a headcanon that the Velaryons do some kind of water blessing ritual when a baby is born. Maybe once the umbilical cord falls off or Rhaenys is recovered enough to make it down to the water? Corlys would wade into the sea with the baby in his arms and pour some water over their heads, reciting something in High Valyrian. Rhaenys watches from the shore in some light and flowy postpartum gown. Maybe the whole extended family is there too?
I think Laenor would be a perfect angel and coo from the feeling once the initial shock wore off.
Laena would probably screech bloody murder and start crying.
But I think those kids are both beach bums from very early on. The whole family probably went to the beach quite often. Total chaos, especially with a baby AND a toddler, but fun chaos.
Laenor beaming because while Jace thinks cold water is the worst, Luke war screeches at the waves slapping them to splash more.

Rhaenyra and Laenor were dealing with their two under two AND two hatchlings? Oh hey baby Jace is teething, baby Luke has colic and oh yeah the hatchlings keep getting stuck trying to be royal mousers.
The pure chaos of that delights me.
Okay but honestly imagine Laenor half underneath a table, feet braced against the wall trying to pull loose Vermax who's the size of a small cat and stuck in a mouse hole where he's been chasing the only prey that can't chase him back and realized to late that just because his head and neck for doesn't mean the rest of him will, while Jace screams upset in his crib determined to find a way out to help
