MIST BLANKETED ARCHIMEDES, SMOTHERING ALL WHO STOOD IN IT.

The ward was like a ghost town, or at least had the appearance of one given the atmosphere. Visibility was low, making it difficult for anyone to get around– Stars and NULL alike. Even her flames offered little respite from just how thick it was, and she was beginning to grow frustrated. How the hell was she supposed to protect the Access Points like this?

Thus, as far as this Ward was concerned, the city itself could burn.

Or rather, it would, had some self-righteous do-gooder not gotten in her way. Revenant’s lip curled, eyeing him tensely. He’d borne witness to the start of her tantrum– A few fireballs, thrown wantonly into the air so as to make their landing a surprise. Even though they hadn’t ended up too close, she could hear the shouting which signified their susception to gravity.

“I don’t give a shit about this island,” she growled, fists clenching and unclenching at her sides. “The Stars deserve to have it taken away from them.”

weather phenomena such as those which had been occurring across the wards were already problem enough, the creeping mist in archimedes perhaps one of the most concerning --- if what he’d heard about it was TRUE, anyway. but fireballs being tossed and landing all across the ward? that was only causing more problems when what the place and the people really needed was a break.

“ maybe they do. ” after all, he knew almost nothing about these ‘stars,’ let alone the island he’d only recently found himself trapped on. however, he believed these NULL would prove worse for the civilians.

“ but the PEOPLE don’t, ” shiro continued, clear attempt at reasoning in his tone. it was sturdy though, his voice, full of his honest belief in the words he spoke. he didn’t want to have to fight this woman if he didn’t have to, but he’d do what it took to make sure archimedes ward was as safe as it could possibly be in the circumstances. “ they haven’t done anything but live here; don’t take your anger against THE STARS out on THEM. ”

it’s not exactly much warmer inside the building, but it’s still better than the FREEZING WINDS and WILDLY FLYING SNOW. finally getting the small group of civilians he’s found in through the door, shiro follows and slams it shut against the howling winds. he’s panting, they all are, but they’re almost at their destination --- at least, he hopes so. there’s supposed to be a clinic in ONE of the buildings in the area but, new as he is to this place, he’s only got so much information to work with that makes any sense.

everyone makes it up the stairs, though it takes a bit of COAXING and a few short breaks, and he follows the others into a room they all seem to recognize. before so much as taking a moment to look around, shiro directs them to the first seats he sees and helps those who need it to sit down. only once he’s sure that everyone is content for the time being does he stand straight and take a PROPER LOOK around. judging by the look of things, as well as the fairly crowded nature, it has to be the clinic. thank god. though it takes a bit more searching, his gaze DOES finally land on someone who appears to be some degree of in charge, to whom he promptly makes a beeline.

“ excuse me-- this IS the clinic, right? ” the question comes with a brief apologetic look for interrupting her, and shiro pulls his helmet from his head, tucking it beneath his arm for the time being. a gesture then follows with the opposite arm in the direction of his small band of civilians. “ these people can’t get back to their homes and don’t seem able to protect themselves from everything that’s going on out there. i was hoping there might be some room here for them, or that they can at least get any injuries tended to. ”

after reading further into the reasoning though, it’s actually pretty damn accurate --- and not just because of the black lion. my favourite thing pointed out is how he withstood zarkon’s attacks on the astral plane.

security breach event edition!!

i love that shiro’s being dropped into isola at such a chaotic time, and you bet i want to take part. this is a call for event specific starters, so a little info on how i’ll be approaching this:

i won’t be writing the whole “where am i what is this” thread, i’ll be skipping ahead to where shiro at least knows the basics of what’s going on.

he’ll mostly be found in golden ward, as that’s where his apartment is.

despite knowing so little about everything going on, he’ll be siding with the island stars if only because it seems to be the way to keep everyone safe.

the entirety of this event, his focus is helping people, be it evacuating citizens during the flooding in golden ward, keep people sheltered during the winter storm, trying to get below the city to help breach & cut wires, or fight against those siding with null.

if there’s anything particular you’d like to thread with me, feel free to reply to the post or shoot me an im!! otherwise, like this post for a starter and i’ll toss something at you!!
