Why you disappear?

I’m very busy at the moment with classes and real life, so I cannot write as much as I’d like to. Oh, and I’ve got an idea but not the right paper. It’s those small things...

First off I love your blog. It's made me fall in love with calligraphy. I have a quick question, what kind of paper do you use? I've been using a sketch book, but recently got a dip pen (I've been using markers) and it catches on every paper I've tried.

I’m glad you enjoy this blog. I know that Rhodia makes good notebooks for practice, although it is not the best for finished pieces. Does anyone else have a recommendation?

Just buy all the paper. You will anyway. I have paper for every occasion, nib (broad or pointed), ink (more or less viscous, gouache), exercise or bigger pieces, whatever you can think of. Some like books, some like single sheets of paper. I’ve seen excellent stuff on old maps or books, too. Just try. If it bleeds, try something else. If it catches, try smoother paper, just feel it in an art shop.
