Many people start writing blog or start any affiliate website to earn online. To start working online is very easy but, it is extremely hard to get eyeballs on it, especially when it is new. No one views your blog or nobody visit your site. People know that paid advertising is the shortcut and fast way to get traffic on your website or blog. But many people like me don’t have money to start paid promotion. For them only one way left is to get free traffic.
In this article, I am going to show you some strategies to get free traffic to your brand new website. These are the strategies I have tried and successfully implemented for my blog mythoughtsmyviews.com and websites that I handle leggingsmegamall.com and thehealthypet.shop, marketonline.co.in and gadgetworldusa.com.

1. Write content on the websites which are already having traffic
I call this a traffic bombing strategy…
It is simply copying and pasting and publishing your content on different websites on the internet which are already having traffic.
The first one is Tumblr if you go to Tumblr and you will see, it has 328 million views per month.
The second website is LinkedIn. It has around 1.7 billion views per month
Third one reddit.com. It has around 1.7 billion views per month
I am not talking about engaging with people and answering questions and so on.
These websites allows you to create your own blogs on your own spaces. So why not to take advantage of this. For example if you go to Tumblr; you will see I have my own blog, https://www.my-thoughts-my-views.tumblr.com. You can see that I am posting the same articles on the platform. This platform simply helps people for getting a lot of views and people may search for content here and your content may appeal to those people.
So in this way you are reaching new people and new audience on these websites so simply go to Tumblr, create a blog and simply copy and paste your posts inside Tumblr.
Another example is LinkedIn. When I say LinkedIn I’m talking about writing articles on LinkedIn. You can see the start post section, you can click on it, write an article and post it.
If you go to my profile - https://bit.ly/2O2uO6q, you will see that I have posted the same articles there also. I have just copy them and post on LinkedIn. You can see the engagements there.
The third website is Readit. Here also I am not talking about engaging with people. Just go and create a Readit account. You just go and click on “Create a Post” and Copy-Past your article there. Publishing your content also on Readit.
If anyone searches content related to your niche; your content should be seen to more and more people. For this it is very important to please think about number four website Quora.
If you don't know Quora, then let me introduce it to you. It is simply a Question & Answer website; where people ask questions and other answer them. You can even ask your question or answer to other’s questions.
There is also a section called a Quora space, you can also create a space on Quora and start posting your articles on that space it is very important. By this way you can connect with more and more people and get traffic for my blog or for my YouTube channel. The Fifth website where you can post your articles for free. This website also gets around 200 million views per month. This website is “Medium”. You can see my blog on Medium- https://bit.ly/3frxLZg. It is also very important to create a free blog on medium and post the content on this.
Let us now move on to the second strategy, it is “Social media”. When I say social media then of course I don't mean spamming on groups and so on. I am talking about spreading your website links on your own profiles. As for example this is my Tumblr account -https://my-thoughts-my-views.tumblr.com/” or “This is my Instagram profile - https://www.instagram.com/informative.nerd” “This is my Pinterest profile - https://in.pinterest.com/marketonlineindia” in all these social media profiles you can see my promoted website or YouTube channel’s links.
I can get my blog post or my website link or whatever I publish on social media. So you can get traffic from social media and we call this social signals in SEO. Anyway, the question is “how to do this?”
Let’s see an example, you copy a link of any of your blog post, then go to Facebook to your profile or to any of your page and click on create post and paste the link there, add some “Description”, if you want then “Tag someone”, add “Hash Tags” and post it.
I think it's so simple by the way to publish a post or a link on social media.
You can even use “Social Media Automation Tools”. As a beginner you don't need to use it. You can start by copying and pasting manually, but if you want to make things easier you can use some tools like “Hootsuite” or “Buffer”. I use a tool called “Content Studio”.
I do not know if you heard about it before or not. So just try this and learn it, it is very simple to use and give you big result very fast. You open any social media information tool, click on publish on the composer section social media post, simply paste the link and click on your Facebook page, Facebook groups your Twitter profile, your LinkedIn, your Tumblr; whatever you want you can. Then add some description and some hashtags. Then open your blog post and copy introduction or any link and come back to social composer and paste there and click on post now, that's it the system automatically now posts on all your social profiles. As I told you that you are not required to use tool like this, you can do this manually also, it's up to you.
You can publish your links on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Instagram and Pinterest. Now, if you use Instagram and you know it in details then you may be aware that you can't publish a link directly. So for Instagram, fallow these steps and work smart what I do. Write a captions of the post and there attach the link that you want to promote. In this way you can promote some stuff from Instagram even if you have less than ten thousand followers. If you
have more than ten thousand followers the you can create a story and add a link. You can also add link in bio.
The latest and fastest trend in the social media is Pinterest. Work on the Pinterest is somehow different. You can add “Pins” on the Pinterest. While you create a pin you have to give link to every pin. This link must be of any website or blog or YouTube videos that you want to promote.
Let’s see how to create a pin. A special thing about Pinterest is, you need to create custom design “Pin Image”. To create this pin image fast and very simply, I use “Canva” or “Snapa”. After creating pin image on canva or snappa, download the image and now go back to Pinterest, upload the image you download. Then give some meaningful title of the pin that includes at least 2 or 3 key words. After that add some description related to your pin and include some hashtags. These hashtags must be keywords related to your website, blog or YouTube videos that you are promoting for example “herpes-simplex-virus”. Then include link of your website, or blog or YouTube video. So, your pin is ready, now publish it.
So if anyone searching for something related to “Herpes Simple Virus” or related to it on the Pinterest, your pin will be shown to them. Once someone click your pin then he will be redirected to your blog or website through your given link. This way you can get free traffic from Pinterest.
This is the second strategy, through which you can spread your content to all
over your social profiles. If you don't have social profiles till today, then what are you waiting for? just go and start creating it. Grow your social profile and your social presence, it is very important now a days.
3. Question and Answer Forum
Now let's move on to the third strategy, which is Question and Answer forums websites.
Here also the first website is Quora.com, the top Question and Answer forums websites, it gets around 500 million visits and most (40% ) are from United States.
Please don’t spam here. Just search for topics related to your blog or related to your service or related to your website. As an example I have some Pet related product to sale through my promoted websites leggingsmegamall.com or thehealthypet.shop or gadgetworldusa.com. So what I will do is, I will search for the questions related to “Pet” on Quora. Quora will show you a lot of questions. I will open a question out of that and give an answer and inside the answer I will link back to my website.
This way I will try to divert readers to my websites and get free traffic to my website. Please try to do value addition to the website and put informative content on that website but please don't spam. I am getting lots of traffic from Quora for free to my promoted websites.
Then we have “Yahoo Answers” with the same concept. Just open the category of questions for that you want to answer. Then open the questions and start answering and linking back to your content but please don't spam.
Another well-known option is answers.com. This website is also has around 8 million visits per month. It is also a good source of traffic. You can answer questions here and link back to your websites or Blog.
The second part is about forums, as an example go to “Warrior Forum” one of the top forums worldwide about digital marketing. This website gets around 400,000 visits per month.
Hear also you can go and engage with people, share your thoughts, answer questions whatever you want and also you can link back to your website or blog. Let’s see an example, you can joined affiliate lift and can answer questions about affiliate marketing and link back to your blogs or your website. By this way you can engaging in the forum.
One other website that you can use is “forum.net” and simply search in the forum for your niche. As an example let's say it's about Gadgets, I don't know what is your niche is? But you can get lot of forums where you can start answering questions and engaging with people and getting traffic.
findaforum.net and reddit.com are also great place to engage with people and get traffic from. In the reddit, please don't spam, you will get banned. Try to give value and you will get traffic back to your websites and services.
All these websites can help you engage with people. Answer questions or write articles and get back traffic to your services or to your blogs or to your websites or to your YouTube channel from these websites. This is my third strategy which is forums and Question-Answer websites.
Let us move to my strategy number four which is one of my favourite strategies. It is Email Marketing.
I am using a website called Convert Kit. This is a website offering service to create your private email list. You have to building email lists through this website and start broadcast to all your email list members regarding all your new updates. This all you can do with this website.
If you don’t use email marketing then you are missing a lot; you are missing lot of visitors, lot of sales, and missing lot of things for growing your business. By using this technique you can start building email lists and sending newsletters and email marketing campaigns to your subscribers and get lot of traffic to your websites or blogs.
There are some other service provider like convertkit. We can also use mailchimp same like I explained before. We have a lot of services that we can use to start email marketing and building email list and use it to grow business.

Now let’s move to strategy number five and it is eBooks and Slideshare.
First select any subject related to your niche. And write an eBook. In that eBook you can put lots of link of your websites or blog. You can include related images and include links to those images. In this ways your eBook will be full of links of your websites or blogs so, it is a very good strategy to create a valuable eBook. Write and put a free eBook and start spreading all over the internet where people will download and get benefits from it and at the same time you will get traffic from this eBook. You can promote affiliate links, your blog links or your drop shipping websites. There are so many websites where you can publish your e-books.
Another good example is to use Slideshare, I am also using it. In this website you can create an excellent slideshow related to your niche. In the slides you can include lots of links to your blog or website or affiliate sites and publish it on the slideshare. If you have written an article, you can convert it in the form of slide show by using Canva and Power Point.
You can create presentations about your business and go to slideshare and upload it. There are around 120 million visits per month on the slideshare. So, it is also a very good place to publish your slides and get traffic from there.
Let's move on to strategy number six…
My strategy number six is Push Notifications. If you go now and open a new browser and go to one of my Promoted websites thehealthypet.shop or gadgetworldusa.com or leggingsmegamall.com or marketonline.co.in you can see the pop up. If you want to allow notifications from my sites and you push “Allow” then you will be added to my push notifications list. By this ways I have 700 to 2000 subscribers of my promoted different websites.
I use this subscriber list to send promotional messages or new push of for example, my new blog or new product etc. and I am getting around 8% click through rate, which is good. So, whenever you post anything like a post, a blog, a video or put a new product in affiliate website; all your subscriber will get notification about that. So, if I have send push notification to my 2000 subscriber and I am generally getting 8% click through rate then your post or article or product will immediately receive 160 views.
If you are using WordPress like me then let's me show you a plugin which is “One Signal”. One signal plugin is very simple, just install this plugin and connect with your account. Once it is connected then you can start collecting push notification subscribers. If you have subscribes then you can promote anything you want, whenever you publish anything on your website.
This is my strategy number six which is push notifications strategy.
My strategy number seven is Cross Linking. It is not a strategy it's somehow a very important tip if you have multiple websites you can use it. In my case I promote 4 websites leggingsmegamall.com, thehealthypet.shop, gadgetworldusa.comand marketonline.co.in. If you pick any one website then it is having links of other 3 in it.
So, simply you can cross link between your websites and in this way you can get traffic from each website to another website. For SEO point of view back linking from different websites are very important. This is only in case you have multiple websites like I do have, it is a small tip.
Now we are moving to my strategy number eight, which is one of my favourite. It is also very simply. If you have a YouTube channel you can utilize it for getting a lot of traffic to your websites or blogs.
If you go to Informative Nerd; it is my friends TouTube channel. If you go there and click on any of the videos like this one and go to the description below you can see lot of links. Out of many links you can see links of my promoted websitesleggingsmegamall.com, thehealthypet.shop, gadgetworldusa.com and marketonline.co.in also. I get lot of clicks from there. If I search in the traffic source of my websites for YouTube then there are so many clicks from YouTube.
So, I can say that YouTube is a very good source of traffic if you can start a channel, and grow it online and tell people about your businesses, tell people about your websites and get a lot of traffic from YouTube. SEO means search engine optimization. SEO is a tool to get pure organic search and organic clicks. If you want to get big and long-term growth then SEO is THE tool for you. If you check any of my handling websites leggingsmegamall.com, thehealthypet.shop, gadgetworldusa.com marketonline.co.in and see then you can see I am getting 40% of my traffic is from SEO, from organic traffic.
When I am telling organic traffic that means, if someone go to google.com and search for this keyword something like “Pet Store near me” you will get amazon.com etc. on the first page. When people search for something on google, they mostly see the content on the first page only. So you have to include key words in your websites or blogs through which you can rank on first page of google if people search for those keywords. By this way you can get organic traffic direct from search.
So, what you are going to do simply is to optimize your website so you can rank on top of google or Bing or any search engine. So it's a very good source of free traffic. My strategy number ten is guest posting.
It is very simply, publishing articles on other blogs so it can reach the audience of that blog. For example just a small example if you go to this website social media examiner and you go down then you can see the link “write for us”. They allow you to write for them, of course they have some conditions and restrictions that you can read and according to their rules prepare and submit your post to this website. If they accept your guest post you can get traffic from this website or if they don't allow links you can simply do something called brand awareness so the audience of this website will know about you and this is also very important.
Please don't focus always on just getting a click, focus on brand awareness let people know about your content about your business about your services and about you also.
For example you can go to google and search for “write for us” and then enter your niche as an example “blogging” and google will show you a list of websites where you can contribute and publish guest posts. Try and just change the niche let's say “fitness” or anything you want and you will find the blogs and websites where you can guest posts.
I have tried my level best to cover everything I know to get free traffic for website, blog or YouTube channel. Each of these topics requires a full details.
