Assault Vest Incineroar (VGC)
Moves:Ā Fake Out is an excellent move for Incineroar, allowing Incineroar to keep your team safe from an opponentās Pokemon for the turn. Flare Blitz gives Incineroar a powerful fire-stab to hit Pokemon like Tapu Bulu and Aegislash. Knock Off lets Incineroar cripple opponents by removing their item, while still dealing decent damage to Pokemon weak to Dark. Low Kick covers the Pokemon that resist Incineroarās stab options, such as Tyranitar and Heatran.
Spread: Maximum HP investment will increase Incineroarās overall bulk. The 60 EV investment into Special Defense with an Assault Vest helps Incineroar take special attacks easier. For instance, this spread allows Incineroar to take two Thunderbolts from Tapu Koko. The rest of the EVs going into attackĀ boosts Incineroarās power output, especially when paired with an Adamant Nature. Intimidate lowers the attack of both the opponentās Pokemon by one stage, allowing Incineroar to support its team and take physical attacks far easier.
Team Support/Usage: Incineroar is one of the best Pokemon in VGC right now, capable of providing solid Fake Out, Intimidate, and Knock Off support, along with solid bulk and attacking power. Incineroar really is the all-around package for any VGC team. It can even run more offensive sets with an Incinium-Z and Darkest Lariat if you or your team would prefer that. As far as teammates go, Incineroarās flexibility in support options helps it fit on most teams featuring a fire-water-grass core or any team that wants to check the psychic types in the format. Additionally, Pokemon that like to set up support moves like Trick Room or Tailwind will appreciate the Fake Out support Incineroar provides. Finally, Incineroar can be heavily threatened by bulky water types, especially Milotic, making the strong Grass-types or Electric types great partners.
This is my first attempt at expanding into VGC guides so please tell me how I did! I just used the most popular set that I could find in the usage data, so I hope everythingās good on that.
