Hey! A friend of mine is hosting a pokemon draft league and while it hasn’t started yet, it needs participants to get going! You choose pre-made pokemon to add to your team in a drafting phase, and then the coach of each team does the battling! While it does follow competitive rules, it’s a totally open place for people with all competitive experience. I and plenty of other people there aren’t the best battlers, but we still have fun!
You can choose to designate yourself a coach and create a team, with your own name and role, and then you can recruit other people who don’t want to act as coaches onto your team! Battling not sounding all that fun to you? No worries! You can still join a coach’s team as part of their front office and help them to come up with strategies, pick pokemon, and build their team. That’s why they’re called teams!
All of the battles will be done through Pokemon Showdown! For those of you who don’t know, Showdown is a browser-based pokemon battle simulator that works on mobile as well as pc and doesn’t need to be downloaded.
Here’s the link to the discord server! It’s very chill and slow at the moment, so there’s no pressure to immediately jump into deciding your team name or who you want to recruit/be recruited by once you join the server. I hope to see you guys there!
