I saw this video and I couldn't agree more of what they said.
I'm sick and tired of dickbabs. It's being shoehorned everywhere, I can't read Nightwing's solo without Babs showing up every single issue, Tom Taylor turned his solo into a Dickbabs shipping book.
Batgirls is supposed to be about Stephanie and Cassandra's book but Babs took their spotlight and forced her relationship with Dick in it too.
DC vs Vampires is supposed to be about DC universe as a whole fighting against vampires but they centered it around Dickbabs in the end.
and now in the Titans series and even in Starfire's tales of the titans solo issue Babs shows up even though she's never been a titan character???? And Babs has to take up space, why?? Why can't I read a book solely about Starfire, why do they have to share her book with Babs, don't we have enough Barbara Gordon in the comics especially in Nightwing solo.
Starfire and the Titans never needed to be monitored by Barbara, they never needed her help to accomplish their own missions since 1980 but ever since DC and Tom Taylor started pushing dickbabs , she now keeps showing up in Titans and every single other book where dick shows up, she's now attached to dick's team 24/7, is this to keep closer with dick as much as possible?????
Babs is now in charge of Dick's team??? She's now the tech support of the Titans ?? What about Cyborg??? Why does Cyborg seem useless in the Titans book. Why is it that he no longer does most of the computer/tech stuff for the team. You're gonna sideline Cyborg who is the actual Titan tech support and the actual information broker of the group over a non titan character like Babs???
Seriously. Babs has become the female version of Batman, where writers are too obsessed with her and keep shoehorning her in other characters books and stories. You don't see writers forcing Starfire and her relationship with Dick in Batfamily books so why force Barbara and Dickbabs in Titans books.
Look I know dickbabs is currently in a relationship right now because writers keep forcing the two but Babs doesn't always have to follow dick wherever he goes and she doesn't always have to show up in books where he shows up. It should not be a requirement. Let Dick be on his own with other people for once.
You can be in a relationship with someone but still do your own thing with other people at the same time. Like in real life does your partner always follow you wherever you go 24/7? no right?! Because everyday we wake up and go to work , your partner has their own job and own workplace too seperate from yours so why should Babs always be around Dick as if she have doesn't have a life or a job of her own, can't she do anything without Dick nowadays????
I don't like how her character has become reliant on Dick, it's like she can't exist without being around him or mentioning him. Everything she does revolves around dick. She even left her own life in gotham so she could stay with Dick in Bludhaven every single issue, and even when she goes back to Gotham temporarily like in Batgirls she still finds a way to bring up her relationship with dick like that time in Batgirls where she has to mention she is wearing Dick's underwear??????
Set them free of this relationship for once DC smh
