the beginning seems a little slow? bear in mind you dont even know each other yet but you really get to see the dynamic between you and mark once you compare it to the end, it gets better, is what im tryna say
it’s past midnight and despite the heaviness in your eyelids, you’re still working on a couple of things on your laptop
it’s why you’ve opted on sitting on the couch in the upstairs living room; you won’t be tempted by the warmth of your bed and won’t disturb the sleeping guests that occupy the bedrooms
there are only 2 people awake: you barely and the last guest who hadn’t arrived yet
in dimmed lighting and earphones plugged in you type away on your laptop, until the silence that enveloped the house broke at the sound of what seemed like the heaving of luggage
you unplug an earphone to hear fumbling by the door followed by a string of english words
the code beeps twice in failure “oh sh- how am I-” then it beeps again
it’s the last guest, you realise
in hesitation, your hands linger on the brim of your laptop as you wonder whether or not to go greet him, but it’s the loud cluttering noise that he makes that brings you to your feet and down the stairs
“hold on a second” you say as you try to unlock it on the other side
“oh shit!!” the fumbling stops “sorry woah- uh- you scared me!!”
you breathe a chuckle at his english “just hold on a sec”
“oh my god sorry, it’s really late sorry did I wake you u-“
you click open the door to see a a familiar face. a cap sat lopsided on top of his scruffy hair and glasses framed his doe eyes
