I will NEVER shut up about how overhyped Tywin is and about 70% of the misconception (??? 6 shots of tequila deep atm might be misunderstoodness or something) of his character being this cold, calculating and intensely intelligent girlboss comes from how Charles Dance portrayed that character because Charles Dances has this regal but commanding presence
IN REALITY, if you look at Tywin's ACTIONS, he is very, very predictable. His one solution to every problem in his life? Over the top violence and cruelty.
His wife dies in childbed and leaves him with a deformed son? Treat it like trash because killing it would be kinslaying.
His fathers mistress steals jewellery? Have her make a humiliating walk of punishment all the way through Lannisport that she may or may not survive.
His bannermen refuse to respect him and pay back their loans? Drown the entire bloodline and wipe out every servant, animal and person that belonged to said house
His 12 year old son marries a preteen girl he saved from rapists? Have her violently gang raped in front of him then make his son participate
His least favourite son gets kidnapped? Have his men go raid, pillage, rape and burn the home region of the person who kidnapped him in HIS NAME
His rival, a 16 year old boy, keeps beating him in battle? Have him and his mother murdered and his soldiers murdered and have their corpses desecrated after paying someone else to break guest right
Tywin has one solution to everything, and that is violence. He is a violent, cruel, and ultimately stupid man who, despite crowing on and on about the importance of the family name etc etc, doomed his own legacy by making him and, by extension, members of his house akin to pariahs
His 'legacy' is built on FEAR, not respect.
Take Ned for example- the moment Eddard Stark was executed, his people immediately wanted to go to war and achieve justice for his murder. Years after his murder, there were people wanting to protect his daughters and children and house- because they RESPECTED him.
When Tywin dies? People come calling for loans owed by the crown and disrespect Cersei and Jaime because without their father to install that fear, there is no respect. Aside from Kevan and maybe Genna, there is nobody that wants to genuinely avenge Tywin's death or keep his memory alive because they respect it- Cersei wants to emulate her father because that fear is a useful tool, and Tywin's murder is just another excuse she can use to try turn Jaime against Tyrion and justify her innate hatred of him
I rambled a lot because I am incredibly intoxicated but my point is that Tywin is stupid and bald and old and Daenerys will never be given half as much slack as that miserable old cunt because she is a woman and people hate to see a former child slave bride start bringing down the slave trade and ascending to eventual empress status and godhood
