talking strictly about hbo hotd rhaenyra right now when i say this but that 14 year old girl has such amazing restraint after watching her father slowly destroy her mother with each failed pregnancy until it killed her, which then propelled him into a grief that left him emotionally unavailable for months while rhaenyra was left to mourn on her own, grappling with the pride/fear/anger of being named heir ONLY after her father seemingly realized he would never have a promised male heir and she was all that was left, only for him to then MARRY HER best friend without a WORD of warning or conversation about it, which then put her said best friend through the same cycle of pushing out heirs and putting rhaenyra's own position as heir (which HE put on HER shoulders and she did NOT ask for) at risk...and this all happened without rhaenyra killing someone.

i am so serious about that. this is an emotionally devastated and betrayed FOURTEEN year old girl with a LARGE fire breathing dragon at her disposal.

supernatural season 16 should just be a callback to all the episodes of season 1 and episode 13 as a callback to s1e13 with the haunted racist truck but instead of the truck being haunted by a racist confederate spirit it's a prius haunted by some dead vengeful fag and instead of big ass intimidating spotlights its just covered in lgblt+ stickers so the big scary chase is just dean being chased by the woke leftist agenda and his own internalized homophobia and at the end of the episode once the ghost has been banished to gay hell dean still gets hit by a car but it's just cassie robinson's revenge for dean never calling her back or in fact never being mentioned or shown in the show again despite being such a promising character like missouri moseley who is also in the car with cassie

Is Nolan a rape baby?

idk maybe this is just a reach but i was re-watching s4 ep2 and got to the part where nolan was fighting his parents, and noticed that his mother seemed to have a particular lack of restraint and cruelty as opposed to his father which i found curious

but then i thought about the viltrumite way of just taking what they wanted even when it came to procreation, potential spoilers but iykyk anissa in the comics and the complete and utter disregard nolan's parents had towards each other, but especially his mother having that same kind of cruelty to his father as well as nolan

idk but the hatred his mother had towards him is the complete opposite of the way his father interacted with him. cold, sure, but still proud. just got me thinking that maybe that hate came from nolan being a child that was forced on her because she wasn't 'strong enough' to prevent herself from getting impregnated- i say it that way because i'm really uncertain if viltrumite's have a concept or clear knowledge of consent/rape considering the way they are brought up to take what they want.

with hotd s3 coming out i dipped a singular toe into the festering cesspool that is the house of the dragon fandom and was immediately assaulted by someone claiming they had whitewashed rhaenyra and daemon to make them more likeable while, in the same breath, saying that they made aemond look 'bad' by seeming to regret killing lucerys (which they said was 100% justified) and i was, once AGAIN, reminded that people are too stupid and hypocritical to accept that their favourite character can make a mistake and can do bad things and that they don't have to try gaslight the world into thinking these bad things never happened.

is it even your favourite character if you can't accept the things they've done? i swear to god every person that likes daemon or aemond or aegon ii will point the finger at the writers, accuse them of changing something about the other 'teams' character to make the more sympathetic and likeable thus = bias, while at the same time foaming at the mouth as they justify, justify, justify, justify whatever their favourite (particularly MALE) character has done.

he murdered a preteen? well it was justified because of blah blah blah

he groomed his niece? well it's true love in the books and he never blah blah blah

he raped multiple people? well iN THe BoOKs blah blah blah

so many excuses and such a lack of accountability. it's never 'this happened here, which explains why he choose to do this bad thing here', it's always 'well if this (insert character) hadn't done this then (insert war criminal serial rapist) wouldn't have done that so it's actually (insert other character's name) fault! and I would have done WORSE-' blah blah blah

are you scared that by liking a character that does terrible things that the woke leftist agenda is going to sneak into your home and slit your throat??? because at this point this is what it seems like to me, as if your too scared to admit you like a problematic character without it somehow painting a bad picture of yourself and your own morals and that if you don't somehow find a way to do exactly what you accuse the writers of and make your fav into the 'good guy', then YOUR a bad person

it's okay to like bad characters! characters can be bad! characters can do bad things! characters can be EVIL and SELFISH and make HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING CHOICES on PURPOSE and NOBODY will try to kill you for liking them, I promise you!

imagine you and your husband got married and had a kid right out of high school and 10+ years later your both struggling to talk and you love him but at the same time your not in love with him like you were as a teenager and then he gets shot but he doesn't die right away but you don't know if he'll wake up again and your son is so confused and your last words were a fight but there's still hope he might wake up so maybe he won't die thinking you hate him and maybe he won't die with your child thinking the both of you hate each other but then the world Ends and your told he's dead by his best friend and you have to escape a world suddenly filled with monstrosities and protect your child and the government is failing and killing innocent people and your so scared but you have to be strong for your son and you feel so alone so you find comfort in his best friend for weeks even if it feels bad and this is the new normal even if you don't like it but then your husband Finds you and he is Alive he was never dead but his best friend said he was dead so did he lie to you or was he just mistaken? and then everyone is suddenly putting everything on your husbands shoulders and a child goes missing and your husband is a good man trying his best but his best puts the needs of your son last and your son is growing cold and he's been shot and he almost died and your pregnant and you know you can't give birth naturally like most women can and even if you did and you both survived (what if you don't survive, what if you survive but the baby doesn't, what if it dies inside you and turns into a monster-) what kind of world would it grow up in and how long before it starved or you died or your husband died but he wants to keep it and what makes you feel sick the most is the fact you know it's not His baby and people look at you like your some kind of monster when your just a woman who made choices the best she could and maybe they weren't perfect but who is?

late ik but I just started 'a knight of the seven kingdoms' and it made me realize how both GOT (even the early seasons) and HOTD are absolutely devoid of fantastical whimsy in the pursuit of making a high fantasy 'realistic'

that's like trying to make spaghetti without the tomatoes or a grilled cheese with no cheese or filling. just turning something incredible and fun and enjoyable dull and boring and lifeless and depressing for the sake of 'realism' and removing everything about the story that makes it so attractive
