It’s an unpopular opinion but it is absolutely and completely true. I’ve never seen someone who creates for engagement happy with the engagement they get. I posit they can’t ever be happy that way because it will NEVER be enough

This feeds into the previous couple of posts - I’m happy to get my few likes per story, so it’s funny to see these people complaining “I got 50 likes and only 1 reblog, this is so discouraging”, and then the next person is complaining “I got 200 likes and 50 reblogs but half of them didn’t leave a comment, this is so discouraging”, and I wonder what the threshold for contentment is there.
