“I’ve lost count, personally,” he said. Jokingly back. A bit too true.
He followed her down the walkway, surveying her home, the life she had made her.
“It is,” he said. “Maybe another time, I can meet him. I’ll be in the States for a bit. All right. Really, anything you have is fine. Thank you.”
Inside, he didn’t openly look around at the surroundings. At pictures and such.
“I’ll try to draw out the family tree for you. I have the papers too, of course, but where is the fun in that?”
“That sounds lovely. My son, he’s a smart one- he’ll blow you away.”
She moved into the kitchen and poured herself a cup of coffee before pouring one for Adam too. She used to pour DL one a few times in the morning as well- that was a long time ago.
It was better not to think of that.
As she moved to bring out the cup she set it down followed by cream and sugar. She didn’t know how he took his.
“No fun at all. That would be really amazing, actually.” she replied with a soft smile.
