Oh wow, it took me ages to figure out my e-mail adress for this place again :,D
Not sure what to do with this information yet, I doubt I’ll be really active anymore here, but I did miss Georg and I kinda feel glad knowing he still has his little place out here on the interwebs. Maybe I’ll come around to rping him again every once in a while. Until then I’ll keep chilling on my demon blog.
I think being a personification shouldn’t be just one big disadvantage. That would be unfair, don’t you agree?
I hope there is a nice little market with fresh fish and juicy meat somewhere in the village near Francis’ house. While I’m on vacation I’d like to improve my Mediterranean cuisine. And the best part about staying at a friend’s house is that I can take Bodo along. Though, he’s not so fond of summer heat, but I’m sure that he’ll find a shady place beneath an olive tree and some pines… [ Smiles and sighs with pleasure. In thought he’s already on vacation ]
And you? Are you going somewhere this summer, or…?
"Me?"
"No.. I never really do. It's our busiest season, so I'm making use of that. I'll be giving some riding lessons in a summer camp for kids next week, and taking care of my garden. Perhaps I'll go camping for a few days, if I can leave the plants alone with the heat for a bit. That's all."

Gilbert was stubborn when it came to those he associated with. Friendships and relationships, it all boiled down to the same thing. He refused to be the only one putting effort in (at least the majority of it); his ego demanded it. That was partially the reason why he kept to himself most of the time; the moment it turned out he thought more of the other than they did of him, he was gone.
That didn’t mean he had a negative relationship with the person before him. That sort of thing was impossible, he still very much thought highly of them and what they had done for him. Gilbert was simply terrible at expressing gratitude.
"…No, need to bring out the works— Something plain will do. Don’t go outta’ your way for me."
Even though his expression said otherwise, he couldn’t accept more than a little water. He would have been honor bound to reciprocate in the most zealous way. You’d never get rid of him if you started treating him.
Gilbert cocked an eyebrow at down at the dog; they could have had a pet bear and he still wouldn’t be afraid of them mauling him. He had an interesting pain tolerance after all.
Besides what kind of man cowers away from a dog? Just because Gilbert didn’t have the room to get his own, didn’t mean he wasn’t a dog person.
"Cute dog, Just the one?"
Scared or not, Georg wasn't all too worried about that part. It simply was a matter of polite distance that made him pull back the dog, who wasn't exactly badly trained but way too easily exciteable. It only required a little shove and push for Tess to catch herself though and allowed the two-legs some more space as was appropriate.
"Two.", he said, leading Gilbert into the garden some more. "Sascha is just a tad asocial. Hiding under a bush over there." He waved towards an arrangement of gorses a few metres away from them. "Give me a minute, I'll be right back."
Trusting Tess and Sascha to take good care of their guest, Georg disappeared and, true to his word, returned a few minutes later with two bottles of cooled beer in hand. "Not going out of my way for this, really. Enjoy.", he added just to clarify as he handed one of them over to the Prussian. No one could ever say he was a bad host, and if Gilbert was going to extend his stay some more for being spoiled it was just right with him.

"Hóla." He remembered this one. Yeah, right, who would forget? Georg, apparently, sue his withdrawn nature. But it was the Spaniard after all, wasn't he? At least no other name or face came to his mind. "Welcome. Anything I can help you with?"
Ha! I am actually working on both already. I plan on taking a vacation for one, two weeks. I already asked Francis if I can stay at his vacation home in the South of France, and he said yes. That way I save a lot of money I would otherwise have spent on an expensive house at the Côte d’Azur.
I am pretty sure that this way I will not only practice my austerity (as if that needs any more practice), but also my modesty as I take care of his vegetable garden.
"Two points to you, Mister. Perhaps the carrots will help you find some peace after so much partying and workout. Vitamin B really does work wonders, doesn't it? Have fun."

“Ach, that wasn’t that difficult. The FIFA likes the DFB and vice versa. What do you think why the German team never played at midnight CET?” I look up, and stop ruffling Tess’ fur for a moment, a wide grin spreads on my face. I am aware of the accusations and complaints. England frowns since years upon my influence on the FIFA - but maybe he should just see and reform his Premier League before he goes out on a limb. However, all these details are none of Georg’s business, and so I keep my thoughts to myself as so often, straighten up in my chair and smile at him when he leaned in to place a cup of coffee in front of me. “Thank you.”
"Merkel probably wants to make more selfies with the players", I chuckle. "Guck’s coming, too. That’s why I’ll be there as well. And I might stay a bit longer for business - and some charity acts", I tell him as I reach for the fork. "I’m still wondering if I should stop by in Washington before I return home, but… Actually, I have nothing to add." Sighing, I give a faint shrug and pick at my piece of cake. "Maybe when I come back we could go fishing. After I celebrated my fourth World Cup victory, of course."
Even though it was far from him to sit down now - Georg felt strangely restless, for some reason - he took a seat opposite from Ludwig and stretched his long legs, careful not to kick the dog or his guest.
"Perhaps you could offer Alfred a file with basic information about your person and credit card number. 'To the NSA, with best regards from the German government. You guys work too hard, so I thought we could make things easier and decrease both our expenses with this.'", he commented, a smile playing on his lips as he directed his attention towards the cake Ludwig had brought with him. Usually, Georg was known to keep out of open statements towards any political affairs, though sometimes a few issues did make him feel the need to utter a word. However, the moment was gone already.
"Sure. Do you still know how to hold a rod?"

"Lilli. I don't think I cleaned up enough for female visitors, so just don't look around too much, okay?" There was a joking tone, although Georg was being half serious about this one, actually. "What grants me the honour?"

"Efficiency is my second name", I say, a faint smile coming to my lips as I take a seat across from Georg. "I finished work earlier today, and on my way home the thought to bake a cake crossed my mind - somehow." This somehow has a very simple explanation: I passed by so many bakeries today that eventually I turned into the next supermarket and bought the ingredients I needed for a Donauwelle. Gilbert then called me out to be a victim of capitalism - too easily to persuade.
"Yes, coffee. Black without sugar. Thank you." I give him a nod, and take the two plates Georg hands me, placing them on the table. "Ah, but I should let you know that I won’t stay for too long. My plane will leave in…" My eyes flick to the kitchen clock across the room, "Three hours and twenty-four minutes", I tell him as the smile on my face widens. "I’m going to watch the final live in the famous Maracanã.” If I wasn’t that heavy, I would probably bounce up and down my chair like a boy who can’t await Christmas Eve. I always hoped - of course, we all did - but no one thought that the DFB 11 really comes that far. Let alone beats Brazil 7:1. 2006 was a Sommermärchen. 2010 an African Adventure. And 2010 will hopefully crown my golden era of football.
"And? Where are you watching the game?"
"Probably some local pub, for the company.", Georg said with a small shrug. There was no need for bouncing to clearly mark the excitement in Ludwig's eyes, and it succeeded to make Georg smile just a little. People talking about something they were passionate about was something he thoroughly enjoyed, even if he didn't care for the topic their rambling concerned. He granted Ludwig the buzz, even though he didn't care as much about the World Cup himself. Watching sports just wasn't for Georg, who didn't shed tears when he wasn't able to catch every game because he had something better to do. Playing himself was a different thing, but unfortunately that usually required a partner or two. Ah, well..
"Just for some second hand excitement, maybe. No one really bothers to jump up and cheer, usually." Save for Tess who always started barking at the tv screen when the noise became too much.
Once the coffee machine was bubbling its steaming business in the background, Georg leaned back against the kitchen counter and crossed his arms before his chest, watching Ludwig. It wasn't a defensive posture, but rather a display of his current relaxation. The tapping of furry paws on the tiled floor announced the arrival of Tess, who promptly came to inspect the vaguely familiar visitor.
"Congratulations on getting your hands on a ticket. I heard Merkel will be there, too. Try not to make the Argentinians cry too much, hm?"
"Huh. Who would have thought?" Noise all around. Somebody save his ears.
"What a disappointment.."
"As little as I personally care.. but if they go on like this they are hardly going to make it."

“Hm?” I look up from my smart phone at Georg, a sheepish smile coming to my lips just like so many times before when I stood at his door sill with clammy palms and a sore bum he couldn’t see and know about. Sometimes there was a purple bruise blossoming just above my shirt collar or at my right cheek, but he never asked, and I never said anything. It was easier for both of us if we just pretended that the damage was caused by one of the boys at court with whom I got into a fight over some triviality.
As I emancipated myself in the course of the last century, I my visits became less frequently, though I still came – not to flee Prussia’s iron fist, but because Georg became an oasis of tranquility for me where I could escape my rushed life and the city for a few hours and find peace. From time to time he also knocked some sense into my mind and brought me back down to earth when my mind seemed stuck in the clouds once more. I wouldn’t say that we were friends – but it was still somehow nice to walk next to him as he inspected his forest, and I my landscape.
Today, however, isn’t the right time to take a long walk, and so I accept his invitation and walk inside his house, my phone sliding back inside my coat pocket before I take it off. “I’ve got some cake. Donauwelle”, I tell him as I place the Tupperdose on his kitchen table. “Gilbert… wasn’t hungry, so I thought that maybe you…” It’s a lie. Gilbert told me to shove my sweets upon my arse if I want to get even fatter. That – followed by the question that sounded more like an accusation if I plan on ruining his fitness, too.
The day had rapidly dropped the degrees of the past week and by now, the cool wind that made leaves dance and trees whisper had undoubtedly picked up. Luckily, Georg had anticipated the change of weather and prepared his yard and stables accordingly. Summer storms were nice sometimes, but the damage they were able to cause was a pain to deal with. It had all begun with the increasing humidity and growing headache bothering him.
"Not exactly, but it's been ages since I've had any. I suppose my stomach can excuse the occasion." He closed the door behind Ludwig and followed him into the kitchen. Georg didn't believe for a moment that Gilbert had simply uttered his lack of appetite. If so, Ludwig wouldn't have made such an unnecessarily long pause, wouldn't have spoken in such tone and he certainly wouldn't suddenly have thought of paying him a visit just to share some cake. Experience told what drove the busy German into Georg's arms. However, no matter the exact cause of this encounter, it wasn't mentioned between the two, and Georg decided to rather appreciate the unexpected company and sweets than to question it.
He moved to take the Ludwig's thin jacket off him and placed it over the the backrest of one of the chairs. "Selfmade?" Georg smiled slightly as he retrieved two glasses from the cupboard and offered the other some water. "I always wonder when exactly you find the time for these things. When did you get up today? Five? Six?" Look who's talking, Mr. Early Bird. "Do you want coffee?"

The temperatures hardly fell, though Georg certainly couldn't complain about the rather positive start into the holiday season. People scrambled around the shores of his lakes, eager for the cool water to provide some sort of refreshment, and especially the upcoming weekend was much anticipated. Still, on his few free days Georg preferred to only leave the cool embrace of his house when absolutely required. Sadly, despite the heat, Tess showed no sign of exhaustion and demanded an hour long walk outside at least once a day.
How curious the encounters he made on such an otherwise uneventful day. Wether or not it was a pleasant meeting still had to be found out though. Bothersome memories of events long gone briefly flashed in his mind, but Georg didn't bother to pursue them.
"Melting yet?"

If there was one thing he absolutely hated, it was this hot weather. Gilbert burned easily and the glare from the sun always left him lightheaded; which was why he wasn’t above spending all day cooped up inside. Thankfully, he had planned ahead and wore something light while avoiding dark colours, dressing himself casually.
He had a long way to go before he got home and had to take caution to avoid passing out from exhaustion. That added up to frequent stops for water and plenty of shade breaks; Walking was such a pain, why didn’t he just leave his vehicle at the airport?
“Water… Ice… some shade— The usual.” He carelessly shrugged his shoulders as he moved closer. There was no specific reason for his visit other than to cool off. “Not like we’ve got a reason to visit each other, no?
….I’m on my way home, walking there to pass the time.”
It was better, easier, to rely on company who he had a.. neutral standing than with someone who wouldn’t hesitate to kick him to the curb.
"Nothing better to do with it."
No reason to visit each other. Well. When centuries of companionship, battles both physical and mental over the years and something that Georg would have loved to call a friendship - even just for the past, because it was the closest he had ever gotten to such sentiment - were no reason to at least.. well, say hello every now and then, he didn't know anymore. But who was he to complain or criticise? Georg had never cared to pick up the phone either.
Smiling through the faint sting in his chest, the man rose from his seat, the curious gaze of two dogs following him as he went to open a gate in the fence and allow the other inside. The very moment the door was being opened, Tess was already on her paws. Ten years and still so full of life; Georg would forever be impressed with the Golden Retriever's eternal puppy mode, even though it tended to be slightly annoying when she attempted to jump at every guest or passerby that came too close. Georg grabbed her collar before she got the chance to tackle Gilbert and pulled her aside.
"If you have some more time to waste, let me treat you to a drink. Anything you want." He shrugged. "Water, juice.. I might still have some beer as well."
