“i know it’s kinda cheesy, and i dunno if it’s my favourite, but i really love how would you feel. probably because it’s one that i was always nervous to put out there into the world, but i did it, and the world didn’t come to an end. i got the girl and everythin’.”
“oh, fake accents work, huh?” she asked, a light chuckle falling from her lips as she nodded. “i’ll definitely think about that next time. i’ve got a couple of accents in my repertoire i could always pull out.” she explained. as an actress, one of the earliest things she’d done was study accents and vocal changes. “i usually have sunglasses on. if i’m not in a rush and it’s daytime.” she shrugged her shoulders. she hadn’t grabbed any this morning. something she’d overthought. “right? how do people always time finding us when we’re eating? i love taking pictures, but if i have ice cream in my hand and it’s going to melt in the time you choose a filter it’s kind of a waste.” she said, speaking of a fan encounter she had not too long ago when it was still warm out.
“eh, not spectacularly,” he admitted, grinning sheepishly, a hand rising to the back of his head. “i can’t really pull off a convincing american accent. it always sounds like someone puttin’ on an accent, y’know? i’ve got the vocal control, but it’s not the technique i’m used t’ tryin’.” perfect pitch didn’t necessarily translate into convincing acting skills, unfortunately for him. “sunglasses at night make me feel like a dick, but sometime y’ve gotta do what y’ve gotta do.” apollo groaned in agreement, nodding vehemently. “and the photos are always unflattering mid-bite ones.”
venus was laying down peacefully on the couch before she heard the door to her new apartment begin to open, she’d given a key to the vast majority of her friends, but it was pretty late and she wasn’t sure who it could possibly be. though despite this she doesn’t get up from her spot on the couch, letting the sounds of her music wash over almost therapeutically, heavy sigh passing her lips as the figure turns on the lights and she shuts her eyes quickly. “if you’re my friend, or a murderer or something please let me listen to celine dion in the dark in peace.”
“nah, they’d suspect me right away if i was t’ murder ya,” apollo called out as he tossed his keys onto the table in her hallway, stepping out of his shoes and heading towards the lilting sounds of celine. “it’s always the boyfriend,” he added, dropping a kiss on her forehead over the back of the couch. it had been a long day of press after his new ep had dropped, and he was exhausted - not too exhausted to see venus, though. “i can dip home if y’ aren’t up to company, though,” he assured her, hoping to elicit a reaction that could get whatever might be bugging her out into the open.

“is it necessarily bad that this morning i was getting breakfast from my favorite place and someone stopped me, telling me i looked just like addie kennedy-forbes and instead of admitting that i was in fact, her, i just shrugged and said i get that a lot.” she explained as she looked up at the other person. with a soft chuckle she added, “i really just wanted to eat my breakfast sandwich in peace.”
“nah, i totally get it,” apollo assured her, shrugging off the proposed severity. “sometimes i put on an american accent to confuse people into thinkin’ i’m not myself. doesn’t work all too well, but if i have a hat on or somethin’ i can pull it off quite well.” a sympathetic groan punctuated her sentence. “aye, an’ they always want to take a picture with ya when you’re tucking into somethin’ messy.”
“she’s one of the strongest people i’ve ever met, and she can face any day or situation with a smile. that’s not an easy thing. her laugh is like the cutest thing in the whole wide world. she’s beyond talented, and manages to do everything well - it’s fuckin’ wild. the only thing that you don’t immediately love about venus is the fact that she doesn’t believe in how absolutely amazing she is. like, she’s really the craic. also, she drools in her sleep.”

it was a little chilly outside and astrea felt a shiver down her spine. despite the cold, she didn’t move from her place on the bench. her ankles were crossed over one another and a bagged lunch rest on her lap. she wasn’t interested in eating, especially not whatever she happened to pack this morning. she was zoning out, staring at a pieve of paper flying around in the wind. she’s brought back to reality when she notices a person in front of her. “oh sorry- did you want to sit or something?”
he found her in the park. hands buried in his pockets, he was suddenly struck by the sadness she carried, weighing down her shoulders. “hey triple a,” he intoned, smiling weakly, poking her foot with his own. “is there room?”
