the urge to b1ng3, whether it may be from ravenous impulse or complete boredom both share a common trait; loss of control
why do we want control over what we consume and how much weight we can lose or gain in the process, observing how our bodies drastically transform themelves with every passing day
everyone has a different reason
it's important to point out that everyone's situation is diverse, and we don't know all the details for why it can seem so much easier for someone else than for ourselves. some people have a total lack of appetite from things that induce it on their own like depression, already-existing stomach issues, dr1g use, etc. some people have adhd and forget to eat. etc.
the struggle of the b1ng3 is an especially tedious barrier in the search for complete control over our appetite, but i've found a tip or two that work for me i'd like to share and hopefully someone can benefit!
✩ liquid fasts are a hit or a miss, the constant consumption of water or coffee can encourage digestion and make you hungrier *however* lukewarm/room temperature green tea is about one of the only liquids i find can actually deter my appetite, this is because of its properties such as 1. EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) which boost metabolic rate & fat burning and 2. caffeine which reduces hunger by stimulating the central nervous system
NEVER DRINK COLD LIQUIDS you WILL be hungry and won't feel your appetite being suppressed
✩ relief from food thoughts about consumption lessens cravings and makes that hunger disappear. "but i'm always thinking about calories!" it's never as complicated as it sounds, trust me! find an activity that you can become immersed and locked into, everything else will disappear, the hours will go by and you will have fasted for hours. i always go for a video game or listening to music and daydreaming, anything that puts you in the zone.
i always stress to myself that when i approach the food, i have to observe it and let it go. let it be and let myself be. not everything needs to be answered to, not every impulse needs to be satisfied. just let things be.
the barriers won't last forever
if you can overcome the loud b1ng1ng noise, the numbness will settle in, it won't even cross your mind anymore.
you are in control :) do it for nobody but yourself.
